Hi! I was on a tourist visa with extension and afterwards 1,5 months in Malaysia. Am I right that I will get a 15 days Visa on arrival when arriving by ferry (German nationality). And I know this is only about Thai visas, but maybe someone also knows if I can enter Malaysia again without problems afterwards just to take a flight from Kuala Lumpur?

The user is seeking clarification on entering Thailand with a 15-day Visa on Arrival after being on a tourist visa and spending time in Malaysia. Commenters clarify that the user will receive a 30-day Visa Exempt upon entering Thailand, regardless of arriving by ferry or air. Thanks you two... I thought that the 30 days you only get by flying in now...did they change that again?

Thats a good call Lloyd Turner...if you get off the boat at Satun with 2 land entries, the boat is on its way back before you get through immigration. They cant send you back anywhere

I am gonna hazard a guess that entry by sea is the same as by air. Otherwise it could seriously hinder boat and cruise crews who trade or visit regularly.

- Now that must have f**it them up completely. Finally they managed to sort out about entering Thailand by air or land and now you come along and ask them about entering by sea :-)

.....unless its raining and youre queuing lol

by the way, there are now only 2 boats a day each way from Satun Tammalung pier...they stopped one for Ramadan and have discontinued permenantly. They fill up early...the koh lipe ferry is full over a day in advance and when youre coming from Satun for the 10am...get here before 9.30am or they wont sell you a ticket...

No problem. You will get 30 days Visa Exempt when you enter Thailand and 90 days Visa Exempt when you return to Malaysia. No restrictions on how often you can enter Malaysia.

I wouldn't say there are "no restrictions" on how often you can enter Malaysia, it won't apply unless you have been there a lot but they do actually limit it if you stay a long time in Malaysia. I had to go to an office and go through an interview last time I entered Malaysia (from Singapore) a few years ago as I had been there "too much".

You will get 30 days. I see no reason why you would not be able to re-enter Malaysia.
