Hey all, quick question. Visa runs out 9th, heading to Vietnam on the 8th... But only staying one day and returning to Thailand on the 9th.. Hoping(fingers crossed) no issues with entering Thailand and getting stamped in for 45 days...
Of course the 9th is the last day on my current visa... And also is the day I return to Thailand after doing my visa run... Should this be OK?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about re-entering Thailand on the same day their current visa expires. They plan to do a visa run to Vietnam, returning to Thailand just after their visa's expiration date. Commenters highlight that the risk of issues may depend on prior stay history in Thailand and suggest that entering by land might be a safer option for a 45-day visa exemption.
The real question on whether you'll get in without any issue or be pulled aside and grilled IS
how long have you been IN thailand ๐ฎ I mean if you have 2 years of covid extensions in your passport you run a high risk of being pulled aside, questioned, etc.
What is the reason you're not bouncing out and back by land? If all you want is a 45 day visa exempt entry do it by land, they don't care what your stay history is here when you stamp back in
that's the only reason really, but in terms of covid extensions... I only ever used one in early 2021, my passport shows that's I've spent alot of time in Thailand... But only shows 1 extension during this time... Otherwise I've had tourist e visas and a education visa...
Flights are booked and I'm due to fly early morning tomorrow, if i need to do visa runs again il bare in mind that land boarders are best to cross. Thanks Tod
Along with the three things Tod mentioned, if you vacation in Vietnam, or somewhere else for a few weeks, that might slightly increase your chances, and make you look like a tourist.
proof of onward travel in the number of days you'll get stamped in for
proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH
proof of lodging
If they're gonna pull you aside and question you, those things can be the difference between getting in and getting sent back to where you just flew in from..
I'm not trying to scare monger you, just telling you, IF you've been here a lot or a while they COULD look at your with a critical eye when you stamp in
