Hi, I'm a French citizen, I am currently in Thailand with an EDucation visa which ends at the ends of the month, when I'll go back to France for a month.
I already have my plane ticket back to Thailand for July, and I was thinking to apply for a Tourist visa multiple entry (METV I think in English). It seems that the requirements are reasonable and I match all of them. Do they ask for a reason of stay in Thailand, or is tourism already a sufficient reason ?
From what I understood, it would allow me to stay in Thailand for 6 months, every time for 60 days. Which would allow me to stay for 9 months total if I manage well.
Can I extend every time for 30 days more without problem ? As long as my visa is valid, during those 6 months, there is no issue when entering back to Thailand ?
Thank you very much for your kind answers and advices.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A French citizen currently on an education visa seeks advice on applying for a multiple-entry tourist visa (METV) upon returning to Thailand. They are unsure if tourism alone suffices as a reason for the visa and inquire about the length of stay permitted with the METV, potential extensions, and the implications of entering Thailand multiple times within the 6-month validity period. Comments suggest that while the METV allows for multiple entries, there might be scrutiny from immigration regarding extended stays beyond what is typical for a tourist.
Good to know, thanks. It might be suspicious if re-entering on the very last day of visa, indeed ! Maybe better to entry at least a week before it ends
9 months doesn’t sound like a tourist visa, you may get away with it for a while but then you will be challenged by immig to get the correct visa for purpose of your stay.
