Will I face a penalty for overstaying my visa if I was mistakenly given a 90-day stamp instead of the correct 30-day stamp in Thailand?

I have an odd situation. I have a US passport and the ABTC (APEC Business Travelers Card). As an American the card should only grant me the right to use the shorter lane at immigration (there are no visa benefits as the US is only a provisional member, full member country citizens get 90 days without a visa) however they recently gave me a 90 day stamp instead of the proper 30 day stamp. Question is, if they grant me a 90 day stay, will there be a penalty when I leave if they realize I was only supposed to get a 30 day stay? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
While you were given a 90-day stamp when you should only have received a 30-day one due to your status as a US passport holder with the ABTC, it's crucial to understand that the responsibility for ensuring correct immigration documentation lies with you. If the authorities realize the mistake when you leave, you could face penalties for overstaying. It is advisable to visit your local immigration office to rectify the situation and clarify your allowed duration of stay.

Go into your local immigration office and have the correct admitted to stay clarified.

getting right "admitted until date" stamp is your responsibility, not immigration officer's who handled your passport upon your entry. If you stayed longer than you have to be really granted, you will be the one to pay overstay fine.
