Hello,

I would like to know if there is any restrictions coming to Thailand BY AIR (visa exemption, french citizen).

I know now that you can only enter Thailand 2 times per calendar year BY LAND.

Anything like this by air?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community has confirmed that there are no specific restrictions for French citizens entering Thailand by air under visa exemption, unlike the limitation of two entries by land per calendar year. However, frequent use of the Visa Exempt Entry may raise questions from immigration officers, especially after multiple entries. Travelers are advised to be prepared with proof of funds, accommodation, and onward travel plans.

Here is my situation.

-My visa exemption expires on June 18th.

-I will go to France around 10-12 of July.

-I am about to apply for a Non B visa 3 months in Penang, but will go to France mid july. So that would cancel my non B visa.

-I already have 2 entries BY LAND in my passport.

-And was just thinking to enter BY AIR before June 18th and get 30 days visa exemption.

Not sure what is the best choice? To enter BY AIR or to apply for the non B visa 3 months(then cancel after 3 weeks because going to France)...

Sorry for the confusion...

It allows you to stay out till the last day of your Admitted to Stay period, if you stay longer, this example than 18 Sep, than all will get invalid and you have to start new again.

The re-entry permit you can get at any Immigration Office or when flying abroad on most international airports, check this before you fly. You fill in the re-entry permit number on your entrance/departure card and show Immigration this re-entry stamp in your passport. Check the stamps and get it directly corrected if he/she made a mistake.

Thanks a lot for the clear explanation!!

I am not familiar with the re-entry permit.

When I get the re-entry permit, how long does it allow me to stay out of Thailand(will be going to France around 10-12 days).

When I get the stamp Admitted until 18 sep(example..), the Immigration at the airport will do it right?

Okay, You go Penang and get your Non Immigrant B visa, you come back on let's say 20 Jun 2018, you get 90 days Admitted to Stay, this should be 18 September 2018. You go with re-entry permit to France in July, and when you come back you get again Admitted to Stay 18 September 2018.

"And get stamped in the same day on return as the day you got stamped in on your first entry with the non B visa".

Really sorry, I don't really understand this part...
Robert *******
If you enter with your Non B visa you will get 90 days of stay. If you plan a short holiday in France, buy the re-entry permit to keep this 90 days of stay alive. And get stamped in the same day on return as the day you got stamped in on your first entry with the Non B visa.

No restrictions by air, but using the Visa Exempt Entry more times could lead to questions of the Immigration officer. Always be prepared to show the proof of funds 20.000 Thb or equivalent in cash, accommodation and onward travel.

No restriction, but after 5 or 6 you will most likely be questioned.
