My passport that was brand new in October has started to look like this on every page. Does anyone know why or whether it will affect me at immigration coming into Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses concerns about the condition of a passport with damaged pages. Many comments reassure that as long as the data page is intact, there should be no issues passing through Thai immigration. Users share experiences of similar passport conditions and suggest that humidity could be a cause of the damage, emphasizing that officers at immigration tend to overlook wear and tear in passports.

They are cheap and nasty, guess they were made in Pakistan??
Ayush ********
Thailand weather is mostly humid . Possibly because of humid it happened. My passport is also like this .

Depends on the officer in Immigration!
Brown ********
That's going to cause no issue
Dirk **************
As long as your data page is ok there is no issue. Only Indonesia might give you trouble.
Mark ********
Don’t worry about it. It’s not an ancient manuscript. No one will care at immigration- they see thousands in worse condition.
Phil ***********
Mine has literal dog bites on it, throughout the pages. The officer laughed when I explained and was only checking the visa was intact and valid. Trying to speak Thai helps a lot in changing bad things into laughs
Angela *****
Dampness like from sweat or humidity but its no big deal
Ang *****
It’s ok / it happened to mine and I’ve just got mine back from immigration with no issue
Yiba *******
It's mould

The new Brexit Blue but it's black passport seems to be quite delicate. The pages have buckled in mine but the data page is fine. No issue at airports or borders yet
Terry ********
@Seb **********
Very delicate....like Brexit! So ironical that its turned out to be black not blue!
Joel ********
No
Lynnette *******
UK passport? The ones made in France?
Paul ********
@Lynnette ******
Brexìt no French stuff
Steve ********
@Paul *******
It was so funny that straight after Brexit, the passport office gave the job of making BRITISH passports to a French company who actually print them in Poland. Have to laugh at the stupidity and gullibility of the Brexiteers!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tony *********
@Steve *******
- tell me what that has to do with 'Brexiteers' exactly?

I thought it was something to do with a useless government and crappy politicians...same clowns that have done everything to try to thwalt Brexit and ensure it's not a success. Devious policians being paid huge sums by Brussels go check it out...nothing but corruption.
Steve ********
@Tony ********
The Brexiteers are the dummies who voted to "take back Britain" and the first thing the politicians did was give the job of making British passports to the EU!! That is taking the piss out of the Brexit voters, and you all nodded your heads like good little sheep! 😂
Tony *********
@Steve *******
- have you thought that it may have just been economics and the most competitive quote from those capable of such work at the time? I agree it should not have happened but that's down to inept politicians and nothing to do with Brexit or those who voted for it.
Steve ********
@Tony ********
Yes it's usually "economics". I thought the whole point of Brexit was to stop this type of "deal". If the UK government continues giving contracts to EU countries, what was the point of leaving?
Tony *********
@Steve *******
- no that wasn't the whole idea. Trade is trade and no sensible Brexiteers were against trading with the EU. In fact most encouraged it.

Brexit was about freedom of choice, being independent, being able to make our own decisions, whether it be a trade deal with the EU or a country in the far east or the USA Brexit has opened up new markets globally. The current problem is that many are not taking up the opportunities but a lot of that is down to inept politicians especially the current government. Labour won't be any better in fact they have already started the process of rejoining and they won't give a damn. They most definitely can't be trusted but I suspect we are heading for a coalition government because I doubt very much there will be another Tony Blair moment especially with the inept morons in the Labour Party.
Lynnette *******
@Tony ********
it's not a success because it is a daft idea. No one's "making it fail". When you lose your trade because you're a 3rd party country that's the fault of those who tricked gullible people into voting for it.
Tony *********
@Lynnette ******
- nonsense, Brexit is a longer term project and it's way too early to claim it's a failure. The UK has the independence now to pretty much do what it wants especially concerning trade. The people who constantly talk down the UK the majority of which are Remainers still crying over Brexit are the very people who drag down the UK. Without such people the UK would definitely be doing better. It's not surprising that these people many of whom are in the pockets of their EU masters talk down the UK. In fact you can see it everywhere but most of the doom and gloom merchants have been consistently proven wrong by the UK's performance which is why the UK is out performing many EU countries. I have ZERO regrets about voting to leave the corrupt EU my only regrets are that those that lost a public vote still cry like little brats that didn't get their own way.

Sadly the UK is heading for re-joining because of all the brain washing that's been going on since 2016 and dirty politicians working behind the backs of the British public. You will get your own way eventually like most brats do!

@Steve *******
The hole thing was Bollocks n we are paying
Richard ********
@Paul *******
Trust me, I ain't paying for your "hole thing"! 😁
Steve ********
@Paul *******
Of course it was. The British all bowed down to good old Boris, because for some reason they believed in him! Has to be the joke of the century!
Lynnette *******
@Paul *******
the passports were made in France. . Viva La Brexshit.
Tony *********
@Lynnette ******
- maybe that's why they are inferior crap then...about as good as the French border force huh? 🙄
Oliver ******
Mine has done the same and I’ve been through multiple airports including Bangkok Phuket Pattaya and Chiangmai and it’s never caused me an issue, don’t know what it is that causes the problem maybe if they get damp or something
John ********
@Oliver *****
Unaware Pattaya had an Airport.

@Oliver *****
Did you go to Pattaya as a sex tourist or because of its vast culture?

maybe it’s just an issue with the new passport

You will be fine as long as the data page (where the photo and personal details are) is in good condition.

the data page is 90% fine except the number bit looks a tiny bit like this too

@Sophie *****
as mentioned by the other poster, possibly caused by minor water damage or during production. It should be ok.
