This is one area where I’d imagine there’s a high chance of rejection, because it happened to me.

When it asks for a photo taken within the last six months, make sure you actually take a new photo. Don’t think, “I’ll just use the one from January — I still look the same.”

What I discovered is that when you upload a photo, the file can contain metadata showing when it was taken, and the system may be able to reject it based on that.

Just some helpful advice: take a new photo and upload that. If you can avoid it, don’t use an older photo because of the metadata.
Answer summary
The community discussion emphasizes the significance of using a current photo for Thai visa applications. Users share experiences highlighting that older photos may lead to visa rejection due to metadata indicating the photo's date. There's a consensus that providing a fresh photo increases the likelihood of approval, as demonstrated by varied individual experiences and comments on the topic.

So long as it's a different picture to any that they have (passport etc) then you can just go on a website that strips metadata and make sure that the file dates (save & modified) are recent, sites allow for changing this as well. Or just use a progem that allows you to change this date. Then when you upload it they will not know, it's probably just easier to get a new photo done though

No way is the DTV a safe visa it is under more pressure by Thai embassies and immigration are applying much stricter scrutiny to weed out misuse.

What people forget it is not a longterm visa and can be cancelled at anytime my an immigration officials.

No thanks

I used the same photo as my passport as it's only a couple of months old. They requested a new photo different to my passport and said they preferred a selfie taken with my own phone. New photo approved no problem 😊

If your passport shows the same picture you just uploaded and your passport is like 2 years old then yeah probably your uploaded photo is older then 6 month... I had this in Bangkok German embassy when I applied for new passport and brought my old passport with the same photo 😅 for the new passport

Your visa application was REJECTED because your photo was too old? And they didn’t ask you to upload a new picture first?
