Hello , I’m having a problem with questions 7&8 on the E.Visa application. Not sure how to respond. I’m going to stay in a rented condo. And no one is inviting me to stay. It won’t let me skip past the questions. Any help much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking assistance with questions 7 and 8 on their e-Visa application, specifically regarding showing proof of residence in their home country and their intended accommodation in Thailand. Suggestions from commenters include using a driver's license or passport for question 7 to demonstrate legal residency. For question 8, if staying in a rented condo, they could provide a rental agreement or, alternatively, evidence of residence in a hotel. Many commenters share their own experiences navigating similar issues, highlighting the challenges of the Thai visa application process.

No7 is confirmation of your home town residence, where you are doing the application.

No 8 is required if you are staying in additional private residence other than a hotel, friend or partners house.

I uploaded my partners ID card, due to me staying at the family house.

If you are staying at the same hotel, no need to answer No 8.

If I am correct...What I did was attach my driver's license showing my resident address in my home country.... I was applying for Thai Visa in US and just simply showed my legal residency by attaching the State Drivers license with photo and address that is current.... I got my Visa and not kicked back by Embassy in DC or by immigration. It was confusing for me also....To have to answer all the forms you have to fill out to even get into the country are repetitive and frustrating even though they all go to the same place. It's really ridiculous. But normal Thailand.... They love paperwork just about as much as the tourist or long stay foreigners money....

I am leaving next week, No. 7 I used my Driver License in Vancouver. No 8 in your case may you try the copy of the rented condo agreement. For me, I put my family house registration. And I already got the visa, just wait for the COE, I hope this help

Just upload a picture of your passport for both. They shouldn't be mandatory sections to upload data, but Thailand and computers don't do well together.

I may well be wrong, but Q 7 seems to be asking for you to show evidence that you are legally resident in your home country, by the looks of it, not where you are staying in Thailand.

Sorry, no idea about Q 8.

And leave blank if you are applying in your country of passport.

Q7. Simply means if you are not applying from your home country then provide proof you have legal residency in the country you are applying from. For example if you are a national of Canada but have a Malaysia MM2H Visa then you could apply in Malaysia and provide proof of the MM2H Visa.

Yes, I realised that last night when I was dropping off to sleep but was too tired to go to correct it. Funnily enough, it was the first thing I thought of doing when I woke up! How the unconscious mind works, eh? :-)

Agree with Dan on Q7. As far as Q8 if there has to be something there you could put a copy of your passport photo ID page. Maybe it's not polite to invite yourself to a party, but at least it gets you past the question.

Seriously, I don't think Q8 really gets examined much, it probably should be a skippable field.
