i was in phuket a month ago and people told me they got the covid extension the next day. but now im krabi and they are telling me i only get 15 days of the 60 days now. and i come back in 15 days to get the remaining 45 days. but if i pay 1000 baht extra i can get the 60 full days tomorrow .............i wonder if all immigration offices are doing this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster shares mixed experiences regarding COVID visa extensions at immigration offices in Thailand, noting that in Phuket, extensions were granted quickly, while in Krabi, they faced stricter rules with less advantageous options. Commenters provide insights, mentioning that policies can vary by office, suggest paying the extra fee for a full extension, and share anecdotes about rising unofficial fees for such services.

Just pay the money and enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Next time just stay in one place to do the extension and you will get it for 1'900bt the next day or within the 2 weeks consideration period.

Complaining will get you absolutely no where, actually they may not give you a stamp at all as it is at each offices discretion.

So be very careful.

i would have but i forgot my photo and the guy behind the counter could tell i was about ready to complain. i will just leave the city and go elsewhere. sad because i have been spending alot every day in the town. if i can go elsewhere and get the extension cheaper quickly better to go their

if you have been spending alot everyday, I don't think 1000 baht would make much difference!!

Not all immigration offices are doing that. Just that specific office.

i could have done it in phuket. but i waited cause i thought it would be easier in krabi. and on one had i think it is as i saw someone pay the extra money yesterday and i dont think they had to fill out a bunch of forms. although maybe they need to when they come back in 15 days for the 45 days more. i have a feb 3 visa expiriation so i dont want to play with immigration, but if i go to samui for instance and its done in a few days i save 1000 baht . i might do that , but maybe samui doing the same thing as here, nobody wants to park somewhere for 15 days , but i guess all you have to do is come back to get the extra days

all in one day? its worth it to drive one hour to get it if i can get it all in one day not having to come next day to get it

I went there to do another 30 day extension and was told I couldn’t. Then I mentioned my country is in lockdown (which it is) and they handed me a bunch of forms to fill in and gave me the 60 day extension. Apparently you have to show them a TM30 which has to be from the same province, so if you are in Phuket or Krabi you’d have to book 1 night in a hotel in Phang Nga province and ask the hotel to provide you with this TM30. I didn’t know this but the owner of where I’m staying came with me and showed it to them on her phone. I was in and out within 45 minutes with the 60 days stamped in my passport
