What Visa Should I Choose for a Trip to Thailand Before My Fiancé's K1 Visa Is Approved?

Need advice on the best way to go- I’m waiting for my fiancé’s K1visa interview on April 28. In the meantime planning on going to Thailand on April 6 to stay until fiancé’s K1 visa approved. We plan on visiting US for about 3 months to get married and then return to Thailand

Trying to decide if I should get the O visa or OA visa for the first trip and then extend the visa for marriage when I return from US. Or would it make more sense to get a tourist visa for the first trip and then after getting married getting an O visa. From what I could read on the Lis Angeles Thai consulate page you can’t get an O visa unless you are married

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to apply for an O visa, OA visa, or a tourist visa for their upcoming trip to Thailand while awaiting their fiancé's K1 visa approval. Comments suggest considering a METV for longer stays, as the O visa can only be issued after marriage. Options also include a Non-O visa for those over 50, allowing for extensions or changes in visa status after marriage.

IF you are over 50, you can get Non-O (single, multiple (if they issue), or O-A) based on being over 50 with meeting requirements. You can extend it being over 50 inside Thailand or change the reason to being married to Thai national.

Just another possible option..

you won't get an O visa until you're married so I'd say just come here on a 6 month METV. That will give you almost 9 months (in 60 day increments).

You can apply for the 6 month METV by mail from the thai consulate in Los Angeles

Larry I'm not the Pro or Lawyer that some of these other guys are, but I'm getting the METV and doing the same thing.

Financials seem to be easier and no med insurance. Hopefully I'm correct about this.
