TLDR : Answer Summary
As of 2025, no countries will allow walk-in applications for the DTV visa. All Thai consulates and embassies are transitioning to an eVisa system, with implementation starting January 1, 2025. This change means that applicants will need to apply online rather than in person.

I mean applying in person won't make it easier. Same process

You can answer questions quicker face to face is the big advantage as they ask so many. It will be a much longer process in Taipei online, i think.

After Jan 1, 2025 I don't think ANY consulate/embassy will have walk up service

They announced that 94 thai consulates/embassies will be on the eVisa system when the rest of them switch over on the 1st of Jan..

Yeah 6 mths statements but i was prepared for that. The staff was confused why I had more than one bank account and incomes going into different banks. Also, probs with company registration, I had one but not for another company, but I emailed them in advance and told them so, they said it was ok via email. Applied in morning, called back for interview in afternoon. Will go back Monday.. Soft power is just as bad for some applicants there today, they need work contracts to get approved from Taipei.

Only Dec 31 is a holiday. Open other week days. A lot of Asian countries do not celebrate Xmas so open as usual. They have stated Dec 27 as the last walk in date.

Thanks Andi. Can I just check something quickly re Taipei walkins. Do we need to come *with* a completed application form? Or do we do this there? I had assumed we do it there. But just seen something on Google that reads to me as though they went *with* a completed application form and handed that in along with their bank statements etc.

Where do we get the forms from to fill out beforehand? Cannot seen to find a DTV one on the Taipei website and the Thai website seems to be E-visa only?

It is the general visa form on the site. It has Manilla stamped on it. You tick the box other in various visa options and write DTV

That's because Taipei isn't a consulate it's the TTEC office and they are UNDER the manila embassy so they use their form

Oh! So effectively what is the last day for walks ins then for Taipei? I assume closed for 24th, 25 and 26th? Then reopen for 1 day 27th and close again?
