TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks advice on which airline to use for traveling to Thailand's islands, specifically Ko Samui, Ko Chang, and Khao Sok. Various commenters suggest airlines such as Bangkok Airways, which operates flights to Koh Samui, and recommend booking platforms like Skyscanner and booking.com for deals. They discuss the practicality of flying versus driving to Koh Chang, noting that Koh Chang does not have an airport. The conversation highlights the costs associated with flights to Koh Samui and the potential travel alternatives, such as taking a bus or driving.

Samui Airport is privately owned by Bangkok Airways and they are the only airline that flies to Samui Airport from anywhere in Thailand.

You forgot to mention that return flights to Koh Sumui are very expensive because it’s exclusively Bangkok airways

SupportiveCapybara4727 he means flights to/from Samui,, not that one direction is cheaper than the other. Flights to/from Samui are indeed the most expensive internal flights in Thailand due to Bangkok Airways having the monopoly. They have no reason to lower their fares since flights go out nearly full frequently regardless.

Robert Merrell Koh Chang has no airport, the closest one is Trat, 2 propeler ATR by Bangkok Airways to there, Bangkok Airways.

Then, you are on your own.

Been there 5 times, with our own car, ferry.

Koh Samui is Bangkok Air or many airlines to Surat Thani and then get boat over

Koh Chang fly to Bangkok easier IMO many companies go from Bangkok to Koh chang get transport and ferry package.

Khoa Sok (presume thats what you meant but its jungle not island)nearest airport is Surat Thani

SupportiveCapybara4727 Koh kood is better than Koh Chang in my opinion. Think we paid 750 baht last time, pick up bangkok nice mini bus, ferry, local taxi to resort and return. We would have spent that on fuel and tolls
