Hi all. I'm leaving Thailand from Suvarnabhumi for the first time since they started with the electronic passport reader system. It's important for me to get the departure stamp in the passport, and I understand there is still a counter where immigration handle passports manually. Can anyone tell me where this counter is? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on the location of a manual immigration counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport for obtaining a departure stamp in their passport. Several commenters confirm that there are manned counters next to the automated passport readers in the departure section, offering assistance for those needing a physical stamp.
Don mueang i didnt see autogate. But Suvarnabhumi go up escalator. And go down escalator and turn left.If you turn right will be immigration stamp. If turn left will be only face scan and out from Autogate. You can choose which one you want
Please note that other Thai government agencies don’t have access to the immigration system, including the MOFA and Thai embassies abroad. So if they want the data on your previous stays in Thailand for any official purposes (for example, visa application abroad, tax, work permits, etc.), you may want to have the stamps…
I went through immigration last time and passport would go through electronically, so went to immigration officer. I didn't get a stamp, just looked at passport and let me through
When you leave, you go through customs and they stamp you they. They want to make sure you're not overstaying. If you do, they can fine you.So they'll always give you that stamp. If you overstay you gotta pay.
Gregory Kleiman No. I have been travelling in and out of Thailand for 44 years, so I am well aware of all necessary documents. I need a departure stamp in my passport for tax matters in my home country.
Kjell Stoveland ok thanks for the clarification. That is a rare but important issue. You need to find a manual immigration counter. Ask an immigration officer before you leave.
inside every departure section at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, there are still manned desks next to the automated departure machines, where you can get a physical departure-stamp in your passport.
Tore Valberg it does not matter where he has been. What matters is that he was outside the country he wants to claim non tax residency for. Thai stamp is irrelevant then. As it will be shown in that country systems when he left and when he returned. Where he was is irrelevant.
Brook Powers you never know, he might need a physical proof for an authority in his home country that he had spent XYZ days in Thailand - for example for taxation purposes !
