TLDR : Answer Summary
To effectively plan for your trip to Thailand in mid May, it is advisable to start your preparations at least 30 days in advance. While the embassy suggests a minimum of 15 days, starting six weeks prior can provide ample time to manage any unexpected issues, such as flight changes or accommodation problems. It's also recommended to apply for your visa around late March to early April, ensuring all paperwork, including your ASQ, is settled without rush.

Do they let you in on a one way flight? Or you need an return?

getting an OA visa. It better be one way. Since it’s a 1 year visa.

I did everything 6 weeks ahead and then my airline postponed flight to following day! Hotel couldn't accommodate change due to bookings, COE cancelled and you start again!

The longer you wait booking your flight, the more expensive it gets.

The embassy recommends 15 days before you intend to travel. I think 30 days is safer.

If you have a COE you’ve already submitted them

what I mean is that my COE is pre approved and then they give 15 days time to submit the flight and asq details, mine has only 4 days and 15hrs left, so I was wondering it might be too late already for them to process it.

Should be OK, the delay between pre-approval and approval took only a few hours for me

Ok, so you don’t have a COE then. Submit it, usually it comes back within 24 hours.
