How long must you wait to return to Thailand after a 90-day tourist visa expires?

Question,

If we have had a 90 day tourist visa stay that ends on May 28th, How long until we can make another trip back? (With Tourist visa)

108 days is what we see on the immigration website but is that from the day we leave Thailand or from the day of last entry?

Does that make sense?

You were stamped in on your tourist visa for 60 days NOT 90 :O

90 days is just how long the visa is valid for so you can enter thailand and get stamped in for 60 days. IF you needed more time you could get a 30 day extension of stay at the immigration office for 1900baht.

There is really NO official rule about how long you can stay inside thailand on tourist visas in a specific amount of time. That rule was rescinded LONG ago.

I know people who have been here years on back-2-back tourist visas

, thai consulates are in other countries :/

The closest one is probably the one in Penang Malaysia. . .

, there is a company down there called Samui Visa run. They're on f/b check and see their schedule, they run to the border and back. they also have visa runs to a thai consulate so you can get a tourist visa too I believe.

 there are no 15 day visa exempt entries by land anymore :/

they changed on Dec 31, 2016 and went back to 30 day visa exempt entries but put a limit of two in a year by land.

David, you posted the same time as me. If you have everything including carrying the cash, I guess you should be ok. I'm just saying that Phuket are very much like Don Mueang.

The immigration chief in Phuket appears to be hard core. You only have to read some of the press releases he comes out with from time to time.

It's up to you but I would say to avoid Phuket if you have a lot of history if it's possible.

Yes mate. Particularly on visa exempt entries if you have a few in your passport. It seems to run hand in hand with them southern land borders.

I think we will be going in and out through Phuket. We have seen those comments on this page about Bangkok being tough on re entry.

 then for sure have proof of funds especially if you'll be flying into DMK. They are known to be persnickety there.

, there is no amount of time you need to be out of the country BUT be advised you could be questioned by passport control when entering visa exempt like that. According to the rules you can be asked to show proof of adequate funds (40K baht per family or 20K baht a person) proof of onward travel, and proof of a hotel booking.

As long as you don't have an extensive history of living here on back to back tourist visas or visa exempt entries it is unlikely you will be questioned (but you could, so at least have the proof of funds).

Tamra N David nope that is canceled. It was originally no more than THREE 30 day visa exempt entries in 180 days, BUT as I said that rule was canceled.

We would be leaving our 90 day stay on May 28 then wanting to return mid september for another 60- 90 day stay.. Are we allowed to do this?

It mentions a total of 90 day stay every 180 days.. Is that still in play
