My husband and I are looking to retire in Thailand this year. We currently live in South Africa. We would appreciate info on the Visa that we should apply for, how to open a Thai bank account and the best way to move funds into the account. If the 800 000 THB for both of us is in the account do we still need to provide proof of monthly earnings ? Are we ever able to officially immigrate to Thailand. Looking forward to the feedback. Thank you Kevin and Annette Dolby

TLDR : Answer Summary
Kevin and Annette Dolby are seeking information on the appropriate visa for retiring in Thailand, steps to open a bank account, how to transfer funds, and whether proof of monthly earnings is still needed if they maintain 800,000 THB in their account. They also inquire about the possibility of official immigration to Thailand.
