Hi everyone! I have a Filipino passport and am granted a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand. I work remotely and am thinking of staying for a few months, perhaps around 4 months or so, depending on how long I can actually stay. Now, my question is, what are the visa options available to me? If there are none, how many times can I extend my visa through local immigration, or perhaps do visa runs?

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a Filipino passport holder, you are granted a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand. For an extended stay of around 4 months, you can apply for a 60-day tourist visa at the Thai consulate before you leave the Philippines. This can be extended once for an additional 30 days. Following this, you can exit Thailand and re-enter for another 30-day visa exemption and potentially extend again. Be cautious with repeated visa runs, as immigration may question your intent if done too frequently. A multiple-entry tourist visa is another option, allowing for a longer stay if managed correctly.

You can extend once for another 30 days at immigration and then do a border run, re-enter with 30 days exemption and extend again another 30 days β˜ΊοΈπŸŒ΄πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡

If you are filipino as you are part of ASEAN country your 60 day tourist Visa is Free from Thai Embassy or Consulate. If you apply in Manila Be Prepared to Show your return ticket and proof of enough Funds to cover for your 60 days

Great that everyone is telling the Authorities exactly what they are doing or intending to do on here.

I am not a a Filipino but I do work in Thailand remotely. I have done several back-to-back visa runs without issue. Many people in this group advise against it but it's worked out for me.

You can get a tourist visa before you leave the Philippines which will give you 60 days and can be extended one time by 30 days. You might also consider a multiple entry tourist visa which can give up to 9 months if used carefully. You can't legally work, even remotely

You can only extend one time for 30 days. You can exit and re-enter for another 30 days visa exempt entry, and extend it again for another 30 days. If you do this repeatedly, immigration may stop you as you won't seem like a genuine tourist. You can also apply at the Thai consulate in another country for a 60 day tourist visa, which can also be extended once for 30 more days.

Thank you! I think getting the 60 day visa is more preferred
