Hi guys it is my first post on here .and im uk based.

I have made a right mess of my booking and visa and looking for some good advice . I am looking to stay in thailand for 90days commencing 1st nov through to 24th jan 2023 .

I have already rebooked my flight from 10 oct to the 31st to give me more time to sort a visa out . I may stay longer in thailand and go to cambodia as i will be staying in sisaket so not far too travel .

What visa am i looking for ? Can i get one that will simply cover the 90 days or can i get the 45 days and then 30 days extension then leave to cambodia and start again ? . I was in thailand in 2017 for 3 weeks and loved it. This time i am looking for a good 3 - 6 months visit .cheers Alex

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user from the UK is seeking advice on visa options for a 90-day stay in Thailand from November to January. They have options such as obtaining a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) for extended stays, or entering with a 45-day visa exempt entry followed by a possible 30-day extension. Several commenters provide suggestions for maximizing stay duration through border runs and extensions.

Unfortunately, travel options are not included to this group's scope. Thank you everyone.

Entering Thailand Visa exempt is also a possibility. Giving you 45 days stamp on entry into Thailand Plus one 30 Days extension of stay = 75 Days stay.

One border run or visit to Cambodia and reenter Thailand by March 31 2023 gets you the 45 days STAMP plus one 30 day extension of stay...= 75 days.

You can do 2 Land BORDER entry each CALENDAR YEAR.

OR

You could come in on a 45 day visa exempt entry (the free entry stamp was increased from 30 to 45 days) get a 30 day extension on that at the immigration office for 1900baht,

Then exit/re-enter the country by a land border to get another 45 day stamp and extend that by 30 days for another 1900baht if you want to.

That gives you almost 150 days without fooling with ANY visa at the thai consulate in your country

Great stuff guys i will go reading through those options ๐Ÿ‘.now as i have already booked my flights and at the check in stage its asking for visa number because i have booked by flights nearly 90 days apart so looking at the visa exempt entry is that still an option ? .

Contact your airline to see if they're aware of the 30 day to 45 day change and act accordingly

thanks for that my flights are already booked and air india just keep sending me round in circles .and with it being near 90 days apart wont they need a visa number ?

If it were me, I'd buy a cheap ticket out of Bangkok to say Kuala Lumpur on a low cost airline about 25 days after you arrive in Thailand. That will be enough to get them to let you board the flight in London, once you've done that, you're fine to follow the guidance offered above re extensions, border bounces etc

They'll need a visa number OR evidence of a flight out of the country in the allowed for time

quite a scary prospect that ๐Ÿ˜ณ and tbh the travel company have had my pants down for rescheduled flights .

@Alex ******
There's nothing scary about it really. Don't check in until you get to the airport. They'll look in your passport for a visa. You haven't got one. Then show them the printed out ticket out of Thailand within the time frame allowed and they'll look at it, check you in for the flight, and you're set.

Don't do this 'check in stage' because you don't have a visa number. Check in at the airport. They will ask you for a visa OR a flight out of Thailand within the 45 days allowed for visa exempt (also, some airlines do not realise it has been changed from 30 days) so best bet is to buy a one-way throwaway ticket to somewhere like Malaysia so you can show them that when you check in. They need to see that you won't be their responsibilty if you get refused entry (you won't)

Suggest you look at getting the METV multiple entry tourist visa.

With planning it can get you up to 9 months stay in Thailand.

As you already plan to visit Cambodia, the METV visa would be a good choice.
