What visa number should I write on my arrival/departure card when returning to Thailand with an extension of stay based on marriage and a re-entry permit?

Hello everyone!

Quick question here. I have extension of stay based on marriage. No visa already. I have re-entry permit. What "visa number" should I write in arrival/departure card when coming back to Thailand? Just afraid that if no number there, I might get 30 days visa exempt stamp =)

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have an extension of stay based on marriage and a re-entry permit but no visa, you should write the number from your re-entry permit on your arrival/departure card. This is important to prevent immigration from mistakenly giving you a 30-day visa exempt stamp. The re-entry permit number is considered your 'visa' for reentry into Thailand.

A Reentry Permit is needed

Strange, since my extension has a number in my passport and I usually write that on it.

If you have a reentry permit you are supposed to use the reentry permit number. Otherwise you might get stamped in wrong. An extension is not permission to enter the country.

Thanks everyone! I didn't even think that it has a number =)

Sergey Lazarev Then you got it early in the year before they issued over 9,999 visas/permits.

It sure does. If issued this year the number will be XXXXX/61.

You are correct if you do not write the number the immigration official might miss the permit and stamp you in visa exempt. You write the reentry permit number as immigration considers this your "visa" for reentry into the country.

The number on your reentry permit.
