What to do if you do not receive an email to activate your appointment at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane?

Hello. I tried to sign up to book a appointment through the Vientiane's Thai embassy website. I put all my information, then i got a message saying that I should check my email to get my username and password. I then went to my Gmail inbox to check and didn't see anything. I refreshed my email, checked the junk folder and every single folder of my email, and didn't find anything. I am now unable to book the appointment. I tried to create another account but the website said my passport has been already registered. I feel frustrated. Has anyone encountered this strange situation? Don't know what to do. There is no number to call. 😥😒

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed frustration over not receiving an activation email from the Thai embassy's website in Vientiane after attempting to book an appointment. Despite checking spam folders and trying to create a new account, the system indicated their passport was already registered. Multiple commenters shared similar experiences, suggesting various solutions like using a different email provider (e.g., Hotmail, Outlook) or using the 'forgot password' feature to bypass delays in email delivery. Some also mentioned that the system might take several hours to send emails to Gmail accounts.

Same situation 4 months ago and still haven't got that mail.

Used another mail acc and changed the last digit of my passport number. Was hoping that Thais never check things too accurately and it worked. Wouldn't recommend that strategy though...

I had exactly the same

Followed the earlier post from Federico and clicked forgot passport and it worked, managed to bypass the system of not getting an original email to a hotmail account.

waiting for the email after having made the appointment is no big deal.

The whole reset password is a useful tip for people who are running close on dates (appointments running out for the dates they might need) and need to book NOW even if the confirmation pdf takes a day or 2.

Good luck 👍

all done however the confirmation email hasn’t come through with the appointment. I’ve taken a screen shot so at least I have this as confirmation for now. I’ve emailed the Laos embassy and they got back to me straight away saying if it hasn’t come through by tomorrow they will manually send it. Thank you for your advice above 🙏🏻

yes....

BUT: If u dont wanna wait.... u can just hit "forgot password" and the password reset has no delay for gmail accounts.

So u can get going right away as i mentioned on the original post and now Claire confirms.

it is mentioned on the info page that : "Please be advised that all dummy email addresses from Gmail, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Outlook and/or other email addresses will not receive email confirmation and will be automatically deleted from the system.

(Note: Gmail users may experience delays when receiving emails from our system.)". You just wait a while.

Just had the same situation. My partner has a hotmail account, and it hasn’t come through and my iCloud account was immediate.

Just seen this on the Loas website after making the application. Tried to redo it using a new iCloud account and it won’t go through as the passport number is now in the system. Up a creek without a paddle!

Next appointment available for Tourist visas Friday 31st May then Tuesday 4th June.

i just did this, using gmail and had the same problem.

being impatient i also went with the forgot password route.

then within an hour the registration email came, but when i tried to log in it said this account has been suspended -- because i had 'forgotten my password'.

now i have to wait even longer for my new password email to arrive. ☹️

- thanks for the info. That sucks. I'm having problems now, looks like my account is blocked. I got a phone number for them and heard you could call and make an appointment. Am trying that now, but they aren't picking up the phone. Oh, the Joy! 😅🙃

I did experience too, i used my email and passport number but i failed to register, so i tried to use again ny daughter’s email and passport number again it failed, for the 3rd time i used my son’s email and passport number and it was a success! I did register and got my appointment for my daughter but used my son’s info, i’m not sure if its valid anyway they have the same surname and hopefully they will accept it.

you are wasting your time going there with a passport registered on the system which isn't the passport you are wanting a visa for.

Unbelievable that you are even expecting it too work
Amornrat **********
they will check at the gate and refuse you entry. No wonder the whole system sucks.

create an yahoo or outlook account, than you get immedate the reply, me too have no idea why just gmail accounts take average 6=8hours. i guess the developer likes to piss off people . it is a nuiance and has been brought forward on many occasions to rtev.

It does take quite a while for the emails to a gmail account to get thru (dunno why).

perhaps take
@Fede****
's advice and use the forgot password option..

I had this 3 days ago

The email (gmail) came about 8-10hrs later (i later found out)

Both the one for account creating and the one w the appointment info

Trick that might be helpful:

Use the "forgot my password"

I did that and got an email right away w a temporary password

Which i used to get in and make the appointment

Gmail accounts can take 8 hours or more to get the password due to Vientianes security system.
