# Hey everyone, I am currently in Cambodia and am appling for an Multiple Tourist E Visa. As I am planning to enter via Land at the Chong Chom border crossing, what to fill out / upload in the last section "supporting documents" when they say "Travel booking" Confirmation, when I plan to go private and not by plane, bus, etc... Or do I need to upload a flight ticket out of Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the necessary supporting documents required for obtaining a Multiple Tourist E Visa while entering Thailand by land at the Chong Chom border crossing. Specifically, the user asks what to include under 'Travel booking' when not traveling by conventional means such as plane or bus, questioning if a flight ticket out of Thailand is needed. Users in the comments clarify that residency in Cambodia is required for applying for a METV and share personal experiences related to crossing the border into Thailand.

FYI

Crossed the border at O Smach / Chong Chom today, and to my surprise, it couldn’t have been easier! No tricky questions, no raised eyebrows—just a simple, “Where are you going?” (Which, honestly, felt more like small talk than an interrogation.)

I got my passport stamped and walked right in with a visa exemption, even though I had actually applied for a Tourist Visa in Cambodia. It just wasn’t ready yet. But I really didn’t want to miss my friend’s Monk Ceremony tomorrow, so I figured, why not give it a shot? Turns out, luck was on my side! No stress, no extra paperwork... Thailand. Sometimes, things just work out!

But anyhow big thanks for your help 🙏

That said, even though I really enjoyed my time in Cambodia, all the hassle, the waiting, and the uncertainty weren’t exactly fun. Next time, I think I’ll just go for the DTV visa and make things easier. Some adventures are exciting—visa stress isn’t one of them!

🫶❤️🙏

congrats! Yes, I told ya, Chong Chom is a very relaxed border . . they love farang tourists over there and don't give 'em any trouble

As
@Lloyd *******
correctly stated...

Unless you have resident status in Cambodia, you cannot get the METV multiple entry tourist visa.

Only can get the tourist visa for 60 days on arrival.

What is your passport nation?

How long have you been in Thailand?

2023? 2024?

@James *******
something is not right here. His profile shows he has just visited Thailand recently, 2 weeks ago . . he is trying consecutive entries, with or without a visa, doesn't matter if he has already maxxed out 6 months

So from June to December I was working in Italy, then flew back to Thailand and I am now in Cambodia.

@Manu *******
okay, so your next entry is after you maxxed out the visa-exempt 60 days with a 30 days extension, or just exited Thailand before the 60 days were up? In the later case, You have a chance getting stamped in for 60 days, again, at the Chong Chom border, which is known to be a very relaxed border crossing. But feel warned, for the future, get the correct visa if you want to stay for 6 months, get the multi entry 6-months tourist visa in the country were you are resident (i.e. Home country) because this is the only place where you can apply for it. In all other countries you can only apply for the single entry 60-days tourist visa

I exit Thailand this year without using the additional 30-day extension and left Thailand before. When I flew in earlier this year, I was interrogated at Suvarnabhumi Immigration, because I had already done two extensions in 2024 (but only up until June). But the interview itself went fine and we had the interview compleetly in Thai. But he said to get a visa would be better for me. So now, I’m considering getting a regular tourist visa here in Cambodia instead of relying on a visa exemption. I genuinely travel within Thailand, have most of my friends here, and work abroad as a freelancer in the film industry for like 6 month a year...

@Manu *******
this means you got "flagged" in the Immigration computer. If I was you I would NOT fly in but try your luck at a land border
Gregor **********
@Manu *******
you got your wires crossed. You have been warned, you have been "flagged" . you are at a very high risk of being refused. The Chong Chom border to Thailand is said to be relaxed. You are invited to find out how far you can get

@Manu *******
and you consider your home is Thailand.

As I am working in the film industry as an freelance 1st Assistant Director, I am not quiet sure, if the DTV Visa would be possible for me as a freelancer, although in soft prep, I can sometimes work from everywhere before the project is going to hard prep on location anywhere in the world...

@Manu *******
do you have a company?

Self employed? How do you offer your film services? Online? Portfolio? Recent history of business clients outside of Thailand with the film industry?

Need to brainstorm how you offer your film direction services and history of your films directed. ETC

I don't have a company, because I am usually hired by a company. But I have an online portfolio as an 1st Assistant Director at IMDB.com and IMDB. Pro...

I was working for a fillm company in Italy from September 2024 to December 2024 and might get work again End of March 2025...

But actually I'm not directing but doing the breakdowns of the script and later the shooting schedule before we gonna go to shooting...

I would give it a try at the DTV visa. Carefully read the posts about getting the DTV visa on this forum and another on Facebook which is so solely about the DTV Visa. The key will be showing your film supporting skills via portfolio and contract dates of recent years. With your ability to live in Thailand and work both remotely with your clients and on site of the film productions outside of Thailand.

@Manu *******
it's useless to get. Thai Immigration Officers will be the ones to decide if you can enter Thailand .. regardless of what Thai Visa you have.

A tourist visa is not a guarantee you will be allowed to enter Thailand.

With your history of staying in Thailand... be prepared for questions from Thai Immigration Officers.

And as you consider your home to be in Thailand, it's time to get the correct Thai Visa for your planned living in Thailand.

When are you planning on returning to Thailand FROM Cambodia?
James ********
I suggest you consider the possibility of applying for the DTV Visa while you are in Cambodia using the Evisa online application system thru the Phnom Penh Thai Embassy.

Muay Thai training school is a popular way to get the DTV visa.

Where are you living in Thailand?

I have a German Passport and I was 2024 like 6 month in Thailand until June 2024
Gregor **********
@Manu *******
. . "until June" or "since June 2024" ?? 🧐. . . .something is not right with your reply! . . . . . . how come your profile shows that you have just been in Thailand and Bangkok two weeks ago? 🤓 If you have done a few consecutive visa-exempt stays in Thailand between June 2024 and today, maxxing out each visa-exempt entry, you should SERIOUSLY consider use the Chong Chom land border, because if you get denied entry into Thailand, you at least can fly back to Germany starting out of Phnom Penh by air . . . .

I was 2024 until June and then 2025 in January again... From June to December 2024, I was working in Italy...

Are you Cambodian or have residency there? METV is applied for if you fulfill either of those criteria.
