Hi Group, asking for a friend!

Has anyone entered Thailand through the Savannakhet/Mukdahan border recently? What should he expect? Show 20,000 baht/Show flights out of Thailand etc. He's going to get a new Multiple Entry visa based on marriage. Thanks in advance.😊

Thai Immigration can ask questions, it is part of their job description to check. If a person get asked or not is totally the decision of the Immigration Officer. What ever happens to other people, or what ever happens in the past is no guarantee that an Immigration Officer will or will not ask. It is always a case to case decision, that's why you always hand over your passport by yourself. Good luck.

it depends on the officer you find, but with a visa non O based on marriage or family, they can ask for the sum of 20,000 baht in cash. But not always. to limit a few questions about what you do and where you live..do not ask for an exit flight, because you are no longer a tourist, but you have a residence permit in this case

End of March - no proofs were asked of anybody in my 'group' at the mukdahan border post - a mix of nearly all visa types.

will most likely have up-to-date info.
