TLDR : Answer Summary
The COVID extension visa in Thailand is set to expire with applications accepted until January 25th. Although there are uncertainties regarding an extension of this deadline, applicants typically will not receive announcements until closer to the date. Some commenters noted concerns about relying on agents for visa extensions, while others suggested alternative options such as pursuing a student visa without leaving the country.

I get the tricky part now, I can’t change because my visa type is Stv visa.

Seriously, you pay an agent to get your covid extension? I hope you don't complain about Thailand National Parks double pricing! 🤣

She was moving from an STV to a coivd extension, I'd probably use an agent for that one too.

Garrett Greenwald. It's your choice of course, but totally unnecessary.

cause the requirements of covid extension ask a letter from embassy, I called my embassy and they say they are not releasing any confirmation letter since 2021, so I have to ask some one to do it in another way

Ang Zhou. You don't need a letter from your embassy. They stopped asking for those a year ago. But look it's ok if you want to throw money away at agent, people do it every day in Thailand. But please please do not start complaining about paying 400 baht to get into a national park when Thai people get in for 50 baht. You've obviously got money to burn!

thank you for your advices, I contacted w Hua hin immigration office before I find a agent, they did ask the letter. I reckon if I go another immigration office they might not ask. When I enter in thailand I carried stv visa which requires a insurance, when the first time I extended my stv visa, Hua hin immigrants office told me my insurance is not on the list, I have to change a insurance, meanwhile I enter this country w it. Sometimes I doubt if they are in a same system.

Ang Zhou. I think you've been conned. The immigration office is probably working with the agent. You would have been better off getting an email from your embassy which states they do not issue letters requesting extensions and this would have been accepted. If coming off an STV there is no requirement to extend your insurance. A pal of mine has just done this in the last few weeks in Bangkok

You use an agent for covid extensions. I am in wrong buisness

Currently the last date you can apply is January 25th. Whether that date will be extended is not known yet and usually they don’t announce until very close to the day if they will.

@Ang *****
ouch. That’s a though one. STV wasn’t supposed to be changeable to any other type of visa/extension. You may find an agent who can help, but you may have run out of options if they don’t extend the covid extension date.

ohhhhh, that’s what she said, I might have to leave thailand and back again. Good luck for me😔

@Ang *****
I think you might need to find a new agent. Possibilities exist depending on certain factors like age, whether you want to study a language or volunteer.
