Hi all, I have a couple of questions I would really appreciate some help with.
Firstly, what is the best way to get around the fact I don’t know when I’ll be coming home? I’ve seen things about burner tickets? What does this mean/how does this work?
Also, was wondering if anyone has travelled to Thailand with diabetes before? I’ve been for 6 weeks in 2019 and all of my insulin stayed fine, but hoping to be in Thailand for 3 months in December so may need to pick up insulin if they get too hot/run out. Is there specific hospitals that are best to go to to purchase insulin?
Thanks in advance 😊😊x

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is seeking advice on two main issues: how to navigate the lack of an onward travel ticket for their trip to Thailand, and where to manage their diabetes while traveling, specifically regarding insulin storage and purchase. Responses suggest options like purchasing an onward ticket or using a 'burner ticket' as proof of onward travel, as well as advice on bringing sufficient medication and potential contacts for medical assistance in Thailand.
I haven’t got a onward ticket before but I just paid for a ticket to Singapore which I made sure I could get refunded. Only thing I didn’t get full refund only 80% but this way I found was easy to do.
Also I wasn’t asked upon arrival in Thailand for my ticket only before I left the county I was currently in (Dubai) but they didn’t check just asked if I had a onward flight
Ask your Dr for three months worth as I did. Buy a cool insulin travel bag on Amazon for £12-20. Have copy of your prescription with you to show at Thai airport (if asked). No issues no problem.
You can apply for a TR60 on the Thai e-visa site. This will give you 60 days. You can extend this visa for 1,900 baht at immigration offices in Thailand, giving you an extra 30 days.
I’ve never used one but my understanding is that it’s basically a ticket that you pay a small fee for that the vendor and yourself understand will never be used
I used one to come here in August- it worked a treat to satiate the Goons at Singapore Airlines check-in; Who just follow a script and ask for your return flight. In other words without that, I'd prolly still be back in Melbourne.
Yes documentation. I printed out everything. The burner ticket was $10usd. The burner tix was with Singapore Airlines as well - I'd don't know if she looked up my details on that flight or just 'eyeballed' the ticket/paper.
