🇹🇭 Surviving My First 90-Day Report at Phuket Immigration
I went to the Phuket Immigration Office today for my first 90-day report, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else out!
📍 Location: 482 Phuket Rd, Tambon Talat Yai, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000
⏰ Best & Worst Times to Go
* The Sweet Spot: Arrive 20-30 minutes before opening at 8:30 AM to grab a good spot in line for numbers.
* Avoid Peak Hours (11:00 - 13:30 ): This is the worst window. Morning queues pile up, lunch-break visitors flood in, and the staff takes a lunch break (usually 12:00 -13:00), creating a massive bottleneck.
* Best Days: Tuesday through Thursday are generally calmer.
* Days to Avoid: Mondays (crowded with weekend arrivals) and Fridays (the last rush before the weekend) are the busiest days of the week.
When I walked in, a friendly officer at the information desk gave me a TM47 form to fill out. He told me I also needed:
* Passport copy
* DTV visa document copy
* Thailand entry stamp copy
* Up-to-date TM30
The only thing I had ready was the TM30 copy. But don't worry! Just 50 meters away, there is a copy shop where you can make copies for just 2–3 baht per page.
I filled out the TM47 form. If you're unsure how to fill it out, they have sample templates on display, it's really not complicated. (Feel free to drop a comment if you have questions!)
* I handed the completed form and copies back to the information desk officer, who handed me a queue number.
* I waited only about 2 minutes for my number to be called.
* I approached the immigration officer. He had a bit of a stern look, but honestly, I totally get it, it's a tough job. I handed him my documents and passport.
* He stamped it, stapled the 90-day report slip into one of my passport pages, and the whole desk interaction took about 3 minutes.
> ⚠️ CRITICAL TIP: That little stapled slip is extremely important! Keep it safely inside your passport for the entire time you are in Thailand, as immigration will check it when you exit the country. Only remove it after you have left Thailand. Losing it is a major headache, you’d have to get a police report and visit immigration for a replacement. Not having it can lead to delays or fines.
One funny quirk: The officer actually handed back my passport copies, DTV copy, and entry stamp copy. So I'm still wondering why they made me run to copy them in the first place! 🤔
The best news of all? Now that the initial face-to-face report is done, future 90-day reports can be done online or via the app!
Hope this helps someone out! If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments below.
