TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand for the first time with a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), you should bring the following documents and items: 1. Your passport. 2. A printed copy of your DTV approval letter. 3. Proof of funds, which is usually 20,000 THB in cash (though not always checked). 4. Your accommodation address in Thailand. 5. Fill out the TDAC (Thai Digital Arrival Card) form within 72 hours of your arrival. While some travelers mention that they were not asked to show cash, it's advisable to have it on hand. The DTV approval letter is particularly important as it may be needed during check-in and at immigration.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Just take the cash in case. You're gonna spend it anyway πŸ˜„

Bring the documents you submitted for your particular type of DTV, e.g. work contract for remote work or soft skills course.

Just enter your DTV No in the visa box on your online tdac that’s all, when you see the IO he will see all your data on his screen but some like to add some drama by showing this DTV approval in a neat Laminated form πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Officially, you should have:

β€’ Passport

β€’ Printed copy of your DTV approval letter

β€’ Proof of funds (the regulation states 20,000 THB or equivalent may be requested)

β€’ Accommodation address in Thailand (for arrival record)

There is no written requirement to show a return or onward flight for DTV holders, though officers may ask general questions at their discretion.

In practice, many people are not asked for anything beyond passport + visa approval, but it’s safest to have the above ready.

Congratulations on getting the DTV visa πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

I didn’t get asked to see the cash when I arrived but I had it just in case. No harm in bringing it with you. Definitely remember the DTAC within 72 hours of arrival.

20,000THB is for visa exempt, right?

I only brought my passport and a copy of my DTV. I only showed a copy of my DTV from my phone though, even if I had it in paper.
