TLDR : Answer Summary
When flying domestically within Thailand, especially during COVID-19, vaccinated travelers do not need any special documentation apart from a vaccination certificate (or a negative test for unvaccinated individuals). It's generally recommended to arrive 1-2 hours before your flight. While some users report experiencing minimal wait times at certain airports, others advise against arriving just one hour prior because of potential long lines at check-in, especially on busy routes. Additionally, travelers should ensure their luggage meets the weight requirements, as some airlines impose high fees for excess weight.

Also watch your check in luggage weight. Sme airlines are extortionate with overweight prices.

I flew Don mueng to esan last week on Air Asia.

Security took a little longer but airport was quieter than usual so the same as ever.

There was a QR code to scan when we arrived so an extra 5-10 mins maybe.

For domestic flight, airlines says that we should arrive 2 hours before the flight. Personally, I always do online self check-in and I arrive 1 hour before the gate close.

Nothing really changed with Covid, except that you need to show your vaccine certificate (or negative test result if unvaccinated).

Phuket to cm was quite a big line yesterday. Check in closes 45 min before departure. Would not risk missing the flight by just an hour before.

An hour before the flight will be ok. I flew to Phuket from Swampy two weeks ago. I got there 90 minutes before flight, and check in etc right up to departure gate took twenty minutes. That doesn't mean it will work that way for every flight, but Swampy is very quiet at the moment so no queues. Coming back took ten mins through Phuket Airport.

If you're vaccinated you don't need anything.
