TLDR : Answer Summary
Applying for a Thai visa (DTV) from Jakarta can be slower and more stringent, with some applicants reporting up to two to four weeks for processing times. It’s essential to have all paperwork organized clearly, as a well-prepared application can expedite approval. Additionally, it's important to note that proof of sufficient funds needs to be demonstrated over the last three months, which can complicate applications if the funds are not consistently available.

I went to the Jakarta embassy Monday morning, put all my paperwork/ passport in and by Thursday the visa was ready to pick up. I think the secret is to have all the paperwork done, clear and concise with a cover letter explaining briefly my situation. Worked for me.

Thanks everyone!

Other question,

I assumed I needed 500k Thai Baht when applying, but I actually need this minimum shown on each of the last three months.

Due to delayed client payments I will have the required amount only on the last two months leading to my application.

Am I taking a risk ? I have heard Vietnam doesn’t care as long as the minimum is met when applying

Thanks!
