How does the DTV application process work for a Thai cooking class?

Hello everyone! I just would like to know how the DTV application works. I’m doing a Thai cooking class for 1 year. I understand I can stay up to 180 days, leave and re-enter for additional 180 days, but I really didn’t understand the process on approval with immigration (not the school unless the school handles immigration)

But my main question is, How does the application work? I would pay the school ฿36,000. Then do an application with has its own fee around ฿12,000 for the DTV. When applying, Do I still have to show proof of ฿500,000 baht or the school approval overrides this? My main concern is the proof of ฿500k.

Thank you so much for any replies!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Designated Thai Visa) application process involves several steps. First, you need to enroll in a cooking school, which costs around ฿36,000. Next, you apply for the DTV visa, which has an associated fee of approximately ฿12,000. A crucial requirement for the application is to show proof of financial stability, specifically having ฿500,000 in a bank account. This requirement is necessary to demonstrate that you can support yourself during your stay in Thailand. Some applicants have reported needing additional documentation, such as a recent payslip, to validate their financial situation. It's important to note that if you cannot prove the financial requirement, it is advised not to apply, as the application fee is nonrefundable.

If you can't prove the 500k, don't apply, because the 10k application fee is nonrefundable.

In addition to the 500k i (and many others) was asked for latest payslip. Its either to verify my contract is legit, or to verify income to live with

- You pay for the cooking school

- You pay the DTV application fee

- 500k Baht in the bank account is to prove you aren't showing up broke and have some funds on case of emergency. Note: Depending on which consulate you apply through, you might be asked how are you going to support yourself because 500k Baht isnt enough to live on for 5 years.

You need to show 500k THB as evidence of financial stability and ability to support yourself whilst in Thailand. Your school enrolment is evidence of permissible activity.
