So I am going to find out on Friday if the Pass I have already got is still valid for my flight and hotel, etc bookings on the 18th. If its not there will be no offices open till the Monday 10th which is the deadline to explain to me what I'm supposed to do now 😑😑 It boils my fecking water 😀😑

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is anxious about the validity of their Thai Pass for travel on January 18th, given the upcoming deadline of January 10th for potential changes in travel regulations related to Covid-19. They express frustration over the lack of definitive information from government offices and mention concerns regarding quarantine and insurance coverage for potential Covid-19 positivity during transit. Other commenters discuss recent statistics of Covid-19 cases among travelers from the UK, implications of the changes on quarantine duration, recommended insurance companies, and uncertainties around flight changes that might affect their Pass validity.

Charlie? You bought insurance and you dont even know what you bought? Does it cover pre existing conditions, etc? Its in your policy, Not on face book. Depends what's in your policy. They are all not the same.

UPDATE: Talk of Test & Go cutoff date, approved travellers can't reschedule flights

Yeah so Im in the same boat as you. Im supposed to leave LA on 16th arrive 18th with the test & go scheme. But I havent heard definately that test & go is stopped on the 10th, only that it could be that way. The Consulate website doesnt mention it, only read it in BKK Post as possible. Im pissed too. I could try it change everything and arrive on 10th but cant talk to anyone at Consulate and dont really want to try changing it if not necessary. TIT.

This is the beach I was at a week ago.

@Charlie ********
I respectfully disagree. Come to Cambodia, where things are all open as normal, with just a fast test at the airport. There are beaches here too.

Oh, also almost 100% of the population age 6 or higher is vaccinated here.
Darren *****
@Erik *****************
what are the requirements to enter Cambodia?

Something to look at
Erik ******************
@Darren ****
The easy way is

1) Be vaccinated

2) PCR 72 hours before flight

3) 10-minute antigen test at the airport.

That's it. As soon as you pass the antigen test, you walk out of the airport with no quarantine at all.

Obviously, you also need a tourist Visa. You can get an e-Visa.

Brett **********
@Bob *********
that is not true..was an early rumour that was dispelled straight away. Could still yet change but I doubt they'll do it so close in time for those already in possession

still means changing flight,cancelling hotel pick up and do I have to reapply for a different Pass?

@James *******
I arrived Thailand 24th December from belfast and Heathrow with Singapore Airlines. Done 1 night quarantine in pattaya had pcr tested negative. Thai government ask us to do 2nd pcr test between 5th and 7th day after arriving. I done mine on 30th.2 days later I get call to say I'm positive. Into hospital on the second to have blood pressure test oxygen level test and x-ray before getting taken to quarantine Hotel that afternoon. But my quarantine didn't actually start until the 3rd for 10 days.

I'm near Belfast just now. Got my 2 jags and booster and flu jag. Had the virus back in Sept with 10 isolating. Got my visa and Pass all approved on 27th Dec and besides getting an RT-PCR TEST 48hrs before I leave Dublin via Dubai to Bangkok I'm good to go on the 18th. It now looks like my Pass and hotel booking are gonna be void and I'll have to sort out an expensive 7 day quarantine instead.
Charlie *********

@James *******
my point being if I get this bad cold will insurance cover my quarantine cost and not myself πŸ€”
James ********
@Charlie ********
which insurance company policy ?
Charlie *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@James *******
the recommended AXA one
James ********
@Charlie ********
you are covered if test positive with or without symptoms..if AXA Sawadee Thailand policy
Dianne *****
@James *******
so just to clarify, this means even if you are not hospitalized after a positive test, but instead you are placed in a medi hotel for 10 days, the AXA Sawadee Thailand policy will still cover your stay in a medi hotel
James ********
@Dianne ****
I will ask an AXA Agent
@Arawan ******
...this forum sadly has her and other insurance agents blocked from posting.

So I will ask her and reply to your question.

Insurance agents are experienced with more than making a sale...they are available to answer questions and help with claims and hospital admissions.

That is why I always recommend buying from a Thai Agent as you have a real live person to seek help from vs making a Call Center phone call.

UPDATE... I asked Arawan Namak.

She recommends AXA Sawadee Thailand, LUMA Tune Thailand and Cigna Traveler Thailand policies. THEY DO PAY .

NOTE...

(ACS changed their NEW policies issued from December 1, 2021 to NOT cover COVID with NO SYMPTOMS)

"Do insurers pay for mandatory care quarantine in HOSPITAL OR HOSPITEL..."

"Both will be covered" she answered.

So I believe its important to buy insurance from one of the three listed insurers.

Hope this answers your question.

this what I'm hoping for. Means I won't pay for quarantine to get in 😁Is that not why you had to take out insurance πŸ€”

Also if I then have to change to a 7 day quarantine instead on the 18th, if I happen to catch the virus in transit does it then mean that the insurance I had to take out in order to get the Pass that they will cover my quarantine costs needed to recover πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
