Headed to Thailand soon, some confusion about the right covid test to enter the country. On line it says the rapid antigen test with results in an hour. But Thai embassy says it needs to be a PCR. That test takes 1-2 days for results, but needs to be within 72 hours.

Anyone no if a rapid test (antigen) is excepted?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is confusion regarding the type of COVID test required to enter Thailand. While the Thai embassy states that a PCR test is mandatory, some travelers wonder if a rapid antigen test is acceptable. Comments from the community clarify that only the RT-PCR test is required for entry to Thailand, while rapid antigen tests may be allowed for domestic travel within Thailand, specifically to Phuket.

You should be able to find a fast result 3hour turn around PCR test in your city. Costs more but good for peace of mind, with all the 72 hour math etc.

The Thai embassy says it needs PCR

Why are you asking if antigen is accepted?

There’s no confusion, they tell you exactly what they want 🤷‍♂️

If you’re that worried about the time window then take multiple tests
