What should I do if my DTV application is stalled and I have no communication from the embassy?

My DTV from Washington D.C is not progressing and I’m at a loss of what to do.

Applied on February 12th. March 4th I got a request for more documents of which I gave. I submitted them within an hour of the request being sent. It’s now March 24th and I’ve heard nothing back.

I’ve sent an email to the consult but have no response. I’ve left a voicemail but have had no response. Is this normal? From what I see on here others get the DTV far quicker from this location.

Any suggestions on what to do? I had planned on going April 1st but that seems to be increasingly impossible.

I applied from Portugal on
***
and it took 5 weeks for my approval. So you aren't alone. In that time I sent a weekly email asking updates or if any additional info was needed(all unanswered) and after the 4 week mark I called the embassy. They told me to call back later in the day and when I did, none of my 10 calls went through. So I sent another email that day with the subject of "
***
APPLICATION NOT PROCESSED - UPCOMING FLIGHT." I received an approval email about 3 hours later (workcation route). So maybe you just have to aggressively follow up like I did. Unfortunately.

I hope you get it… they are habitually slow unfortunately. But at least they haven’t denied it yet. However, you can travel on tourist until you receive it. Once you receive it… you can do a “border run” and get the stamp for six months.

What documents did they ask of you and what did you supply?

DTV_BegPecker they asked for an employer wet signature on remote work letter. I already gave it to them though, so I just had them sign with blue ink the second time to make it easier to tell. They asked for a pay stub as well and last month of savings. All of my documents meet the requirements.

does your contract actually say “working remotely from anywhere” or only “working remotely from *state*”?

as does Canada

We took a side trip

For a month to Malaysia with intentions of the ferry back

20 minutes into the interview with the manager , he finally accepted that our paid rent and return flight from Bangkok in 2 months was proof enough that we would not try to stay in Malaysia

They aren’t playing around anymore

though I was asked for all of my travel, including the apartment lease, on the form itself. Don’t see how that would be possible

I applied in DC. I just did a 2 week hotel reservation on booking and canceled once the visa was issued. Also for flight, I just gave a flight number - nothing purchased.

They usually think they're doing you a favour as it's means you get more time before the visa expires. But it can be stressful. You should be fine.

Approvals are given close to departure., you have not heard anything for awhile, so approval very soon is very likely what is going to happen

Oh..you cannot apply for the DTV whilst on a valid visa. They should have replied earlier though. You have a METV?
