Hi everyone, i have a question, im doing my dtv in Madrid embassy, and I have sent my bank statement from a saving bank account i have in the US. And they came back with this: Please provide an official Spanish bank statement showing your name as account owner and cash transactions and most updated balance. So i dont understand if they want me to send it from my bank account in europe (which seems ridiculous and will cost me transactions fee) or they want it to be in spanish language. Anyone had this situation before? how you solve it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user applying for a Thai visa at the embassy in Madrid faced confusion over a request for a Spanish bank statement. The embassy required an official statement showing cash transactions and the current balance, which the user interpreted as potentially needing a local European account. Several commenters shared their experiences and tips, including the idea that different embassies have unique requirements, and suggested contacting the embassy for clarity. One user resolved the issue by explaining their situation in a letter, stating the costs involved in transferring funds to Spain. They received approval after this explanation.

Dears I just wanted to let you know how I solve it: I sent a letter and explained that for me this is proof of my solvency and that bring that money to my bank in Spain will be extra costs of exchange and commission that I didnโ€™t considered necessary to fulfilling this requirement. And they gave it to me ๐Ÿ™‚. Thanks for the advice

These days everything is difficult and is a problem. You have to make it as straightforward as possible for any government or private organisation you are dealing with to try to avoid any hassles, hickups or faults from their part. It's exhausting

Usually the visa application location has to match with your passport home and/or address home, so if you submitted a US passport and/or a US home address then they probably want you to apply at the Thai embassy or consulate that's nearest to that location, if you supply a Spain passport and Spain address then they'll ask for everything from Spain. You can't mix and match. Same goes for background check etc.

I would not think that a Thai Visa is asking for a Spanish statement ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Each embassy sets their own requirements. I've read reports that Madrid might not be very user friendly. You may want to get clarification from them if they in fact require the money to be in Europe or even Spain specifically.

My Japanese bank has statements in English. I downloaded 3 of them (last 3 months) as .pdf then concatenated them into a single attachment (you can attach only one file) and it was accepted for my Non-O 90 days visa.

There are free .pdf concatenation sites.

I used BestPDF, they let you do the concatenation, one-off, and be able to reuse it for 7 days. It was like 2 US$. Be aware, if you do not cancel it within 7 days, they will be charging you 34 EUR a month until you cancel it.
