I will arrive in chiang mia this week. I used the arrival card for the first time. It states is only for 30 days and and only one entry. I’m here for 73 days. Question: would I simply renew or would I have to leave the country and reenter like the old days? Please advise. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about their arrival card in Thailand, which states it allows for a stay of only 30 days, while they intend to stay for 73 days. Various commenters provide conflicting advice, with some advising to seek an extension before the 60-day mark, while others clarify that the arrival card is not a visa but merely a record for entry. There's a mention of potential scams and the necessity of using official resources for accurate information.
The TDAC does not say that. It's just the arrival information for when you land. It's not a visa. It's not an application for a stay. Where are you getting this information from?
Ian Morrison thanks! But looks like myself and my partner have been done by a scam site. We thought we only had 30 days here and paid for a 60 day extension.
This place is rapidly starting to look like the land of scams. I thought the UK was bad for scammers 😂
Don’t get me started on Russians trying to take a finders fee for property rentals……
Michael Stickland if you look on the UK govt website or the Thai embassy website it tells you correct information. If you use Google you can get the wrong info because scam sites often appear first. UK passports get 60 day entry with no visa. The TDAC isn't a visa and clearly says so on the very top. It's a shame so many people are getting scammed.
What makes you think the people making these TDAC scam sites are in Thailand? It's a website. Anyone in the world can create that and pay for google advertising to get it higher in the search results. Also every country that has an entry card has the same things going on. Not to mention that some of them actually do file a TDAC for you, thereby not making them actually "scams" to officials, since you get what you paid for.
You got a 60 day visa free entry. You will have to go a few days before the 60th day to extent to visa free stay to 90 days. It’s roughly a $18 per day fine for every day you stay over 60 days plus you risk having problems returning to the country later on.
Kenneth J Grissoni Look at the name of this group and if you think people shouldn't be getting information here then I think you should leave the group
Hopefully you got a 90 day visa and not going to do a 30 day extention on a 60 day exempt as no guarantee you will get a 30 day extention, you may end up with a 7 day extention
If it stated that it was only for 30 days then you are using a scam site and probably paid for the arrival card. Use the official website and it’s free.
Lynnette Munoz the question is what nationality is he ? To get a 30 day tdac? 60 days is the normal now with an extension of 30 ? I'm pointing out he has been shafted about the tdac he has ok because no dubat he's going to get a million and one answers like yourself concentrating on me
