What should I do if I have a non-refundable return ticket for my 60th day in Thailand but only a 30-day visa exemption?

What if I already bought a return ticket, and it's non-refundable? I plan to stay in Thailand for 60 days, which is why I bought a ticket for my 60th day in Thailand. However, I only have a 30-day free visa. My plan is to extend my stay for another 30 days at Thai immigration.

Does anyone have any good advice or suggestions.

What is the best solution?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a non-refundable return ticket scheduled for the 60th day of their stay in Thailand but only has a 30-day visa exemption. They plan to extend their stay for another 30 days. Responses suggest that if they are from one of the 93 visa-exempt countries, they can get a 60-day stamp upon entry. It's important to calculate the exact days remaining and consider the possibility of overstaying if the extension isn’t secured.

Check your passport stamp date. You’re probably good already.

If you hold a Philippine passport

(ref your previous comments here), you’re entitled to a 60 days visa exemption and free stamp upon arrival and you’ll be fine with your 60 days return/onward ticket.

Check your passport, the dates should be there. Should be 60 days, then extend for 30 days if necessary.

Who said this. People from the Philippines with Philippine passport are entitled to a 60 days visa exemption after the new Scheme introduced in July last year.

If you’re from one of the 93 countries allowed to enter visa exempt - that is with no visa, just a free entry stamp - then you’d get 60 days on entry.

There is no free visa for 30 days.

Bear in mind that the day you enter is day 1, so you will be stamped in for 59 further days.

Do the math and work out if you need an extension and if you don’t get one that you’d be happy with an overstay stamp and possible fine for the one day over.

Maybe this is the latest update, when it true, so nice if 60 days.

Isn't it visa-free for 30 days, then you can extend for another 30 days at Thai immigration if your 30 days are about to expire?

you get 60 days visa exempt, it changed from 30 to 60 in July 2024, you can then extend by 30 days at immigration inside thailand if you want to stay longer
