I contacted the hospital and tried asking for the hospital to confirm my long term treatment in Thailand which I previously had a lasik surgery with them back in 2023 DEC. However they couldn’t provide the documents for me and stated that my case was by appointments only. Is there any other ways?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice after a hospital in Thailand was unable to provide the necessary documentation for their long-term treatment following a Lasik surgery in December 2023. They mention that the hospital restricts appointments for documentation and express frustration over the lack of solutions. Comments from others highlight challenges in obtaining similar documentation for medical visas, suggesting that without formal letters from the hospital and the necessary business licenses, the embassy may refuse approval.

I've tried applying in Singapore with the medical route and it was very difficult. The embassy wanted the same documents you mentioned and Samitivej hospital wouldn't write me a long term plan letter AND provide me with their business licence. Embassy refused to approve without when I emailed them (understandably so). In the end I just gave up and went with soft power (cooking)

Anonymous participant 684 now I’m only left with this what do they mean by this? I provided them with my own bank with 500k baht in it. I’m unemployed though, are trying to mean my own signature in a letter or my employer?

man... the sg embassy is strange! Sorry I don't know what letter from Singapore means. I assume it might be a spelling mistake and they meant to write letter from Singaporean? I know for dependants under 20 (obviously children are unemployed), the main applicant (parent) write a sponsorship letter stating how they're related and that they will be financially responsible for x in regards to food, accomodation and any other living expenses in Thailand. Print it out, sign with blue pen and rescan. Use ChatGPT for a template.

I don't understand why they would ask you this as you're the main applicant with the bank statements, but who knows- they're odd sometimes

If the doctor or hospital are unwilling to provide documentation and a treatment plan with appointments over a significant time period in the future, then you're out of luck with that location. Providing a year old appointment is not going to cut it, what were you thinking?

should I use this as the letter they are requesting? However I had sent this to them before.

@Vida ****
you aren't gonna get a 5 year visa with a single appointment or even two appointments.

@Vida ****
I can't read that but generally they want a treatment plan going forward signed off and approved by the doctor and hospital. I'd look for another option

however I had a new upcoming appointment with them it’s just that they ain’t willing to provide the so called “long term treatment letter”

@Vida ****
maybe that us because it is not a long term treatment? When the first and upcoming treatment are more than a year apart it more looks like a treatment appointment by appointment, and for a treatment once a year you just can enter on visa exempt each time, saving you a lot of money for an expensive visa!

@Vida ****
forget it... unlikely to be successful in getting the DTV visa.

Choose another reason to obtain the DTV visa...

What's your passport nation?

Where are you now?

What's your recent history of staying in Thailand?
James ********
If you have a passport from Singapore and applying with the Thai Embassy in Singapore using the Evisa online application system... that Embassy is not a wise choice for applying for the DTV visa.

9,995 Thai baht for this course which has been successful in getting the DTV visa.
