What should I do after my Thai visa application was cancelled due to my temporary residency in Mexico?

My application was just cancelled. I applied on 28th from Mexico where I hold legal temporary residency. On 1st of September they requested more documents about my remote work and savings. I provided all and today I got an email that my application is cancelled because I don't hold a permanent resident status which is a requirement since the 31st. Mexico issues permanent resident cards after 4 years of temporary residency. I live here legally and pay taxes, so I don't get how that doesn't qualify as residency. Has anyone gone through something similar? If so, what did you do?
Answer summary
The user faced a cancellation of their Thai visa application after being informed that they did not hold permanent residency, which became a requirement after September 1st. The user applied on August 28th, just before the new regulations were implemented, and despite providing requested documents regarding their remote work and savings, their application was denied. Community comments reflect a range of interpretations regarding the new rules, the importance of permanent residency, and suggest contacting authorities for clarification and potential recourse.

I would contact them and make sure they arent applying the new rule prematurely. I called and was told to send an email for my questions so I would have the answers in writing, which they gave me. This could also work for you.

That really sucks because you applied on the 28.

Seeing as you applied on the 28th you should have been under the old requirements. I would contact them and affirm this point and ask for a review.

That's messed up seeing as you applied before the implementation of the new rule. I don't think they realize how complicated people's living situations can be. Not everyone has a permanent residency where they live and not everyone can risk returning to their native country for a visa application, particularly when the processing time can be anywhere from a few days to more than a month.

If you applied before the rules changed this is ridiculously harsh.

Temporary isn't permanent. Simple

The rule says permanent residency. You might have asked the embassy before applying. It seems you're just in a sort of work permit visa.

Yes you need permanent residency or citizenship

Unfortunately their decisions are final and they don't even have to give a reason to cancel or deny an application. The only course you can take now is to go to the country where you have citizenship or actual permanent residency, not temporary residency, and apply again if you wish to receive a DTV visa.

I think you answered your own question. They said you need a permanent resident card to apply via that embassy and you only had a temporary one
