How long does it typically take to get a DTV visa approval from the Jakarta Embassy for cooking classes?

Hello! I applied for soft power with cooking classes at the Jakarta Embassy in Indonesia. I applied on January 15th, a Thursday. It still says pending document check. My plane to head back to Thailand is scheduled for January 28th, a Wednesday. So my plane leaves in 2 days. I was wondering how long it’s taking for people that have applied at the Jakarta embassy. I was wondering if it’s likely to find out if I’m approved by Wednesday if not I’ll need to reschedule my plane and was also wondering how long I should reschedule my flight for? Thank you for the help:)

Update: I ended up canceling my flight until February 4th a Wednesday, so it will give me 15 business days all together.

Update: I ended up having to extend my stay in Indonesia since I’ve been here longer than 30 days. They requested for me to come to Jakarta for an interview so on Sunday I flew to Jakarta from Bali and had an interview on Monday the 16th of February. On Tuesday the 17th (this morning) I got approved for a multiple entry tourist TR (6 month visa) instead of the 5 year DTV. I assume it’s because my cooking class for soft power was a 6 month course so they don’t think I need to be in Thailand longer than 6 months.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster applied for a visa to Thailand to participate in cooking classes as a soft power activity. Initially concerned about timing, they explored how long it typically takes to hear back from the Jakarta embassy, especially with a flight approaching. After extending their stay and attending an interview, they were ultimately approved for a multiple-entry tourist visa instead of the expected DTV visa. Comments from others in the community provided insight into processing times and suggested experiences regarding similar applications.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I think it is worthwhile to use an agent who directs you to a better location.

I'm in the same situation now. I applied with a bad service called "issacompass". They kept delaying the application by asking me a stupid and repetitive questions, then they started the application in 13 jan. I'm still waiting. I'm in bali and have a flight back to phuket in 31 jan. I applied with my own company and bank statement.

You guys will get to stay in Thailand for 5 years if visa is approved. Waiting for visa result 2-3 weeks is nothing. LOL. So fast processing time omg for 5 years visa 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous participant 799 I understand what you mean. I’m not complaining I just didn’t know how long it was going to be, I thought it usually was quicker. :) Definitely enjoying my time in Indonesia:)

Soft options are more likely to just end up with a Multi entry visa not a DTV, workcation more likely to be a viable option. GL

The soft power activity you submitted for the DTV visa is

Cooking classes.

How MANY MONTHS of the soft power activity did you submit with your application?

Where will you be living in Thailand?

Where is the soft power activity located in Thailand ?
