Just had my return leg flight canceled by Eva Air from BKK to Toronto (transit in Taipei) scheduled for Apr 16th. Purchased through the infamous Expedia whom Eva states is responsible for processing flight changes/refunds. Has this happened to anyone else here and what's your game plan? Expedia's website looks to be down, go figure. My current 30-day exemption stamp expires April 16th. Any word on that Canadian embassy travel disruption affidavit yet? It come in real handy right about now..

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently experienced their return flight on Eva Air from Bangkok to Toronto being canceled, raising concerns about processing refunds through Expedia and the expiration of their visa exemption stamp. Community members discussed the situation, including the impact of COVID-19 travel restrictions and advised on contacting the airline directly for assistance, while highlighting the need to apply for a travel disruption affidavit at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok.

Thank you for contacting the Embassy of Canada.

Issuing a letter to allow you to stay in the country is not one of the services we provide. What we can provide is an affidavit letter where you need to apply for it in person at the Embassy in Bangkok. It is free of charge. You will need to bring your passport with you when you come to apply. The Embassy can not guarantee if the letter will be accepted. It is up to the Thai Immigration whether they will consider accepting the issued letter or not.

We encourage you to register your stay in Thailand. Please find info. in the following link,

Well...

the flights between TPE/BKK and TPE/CNX both are not very profitable. There were so many costomer to begin with. Both China Airlines and EVA which operate out of TPE prefer destinations in China. In fact, out of five airlines that has flights from TPE to CNX, two went out of bussiness. It surprises me little that EVA would cancel flight out BKK once travel restriction is in place.

Also, I have a CNX to TPE ticket from EVA and I have not being able to contact them in their Taipei main office to make change.

Does it had anything to do with this? Since he will transit at Taipei, capital of Taiwan

i flew home Saturday with Eva and the plane was 40% empty. From what I can tell they are cancelling some flights and moving passengers to try and fly full planes. Can you change to an earlier flight?
Benjamin ******
Maybe, maybe not :\ I don't think it matters that much though, right? There's other ways to get home.

>Expedia's website looks to be down, go figure.

Talk to Expedia, not to Thai Visa Advice.

>It come in real handy right about now..

As long as there are still flights leaving Thailand to Canada, I can't imagine that letter being issued.

@Benjamin *****
yes, eva air is still flying out of thailand as we speak, they will modify your ticket at no extra charge too

So it seems that EVA is not flying out from BKK internationally? Any more info to share? Thanks

Hope you get your refund
