TLDR : Answer Summary
In the TDAC application for long-term residents on a retirement visa, the departure date field is not mandatory. It can be left blank, as indicated by comments from other users. It's also suggested that in the absence of a red asterisk, there's no need to fill it out unless specifically required by the updated application. Some users recommend entering the date of the annual visa renewal instead.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

This is why it probably males sense not to gill in the form, or "play with it", until it's launched and you have to submit details.

Sorry I thought if you were a resident you selected Thailand not your home country passport.

I am sure that's why they added Thailand as a choice.

I could be wrong but seen in another post.

I thought idea of selecting Thailand would then not need depart date

As mentioned, there is no red asterisk next to it, so it is not mandatory.

Leave it blank.

Departure details are not mandatory fields. You can leave them blank.
