Hi everyone,
I arrived in Bangkok on a visa exemption (French national) on the 26th of November, and went to extend for 30 days at Muang Thong Thani on the 24th. I wanted to ask information about covid visa to one of the officers inside the room where you give your documents and they have you wait while they process your visa but she told me not very nicely to ask to one of the 2 screening officers outside. This one was even a couple of notches less nice and he fell short of outright screaming at me to tell me there was no covid extension for visa exemption.
But on NYE, I met someone (Russian passport) who told me she had managed on her own to get a covid visa on visa exemption thanks to the advice given in this Facebook group !! I could not get the details, but she recommended me I join, which I just did.
So could someone please confirm this is possible and how do I go about doing it without getting unlucky (?) and having an officer telling me it is not possible the day I go to get the visa?...
Thank you.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a French national, inquires about the possibility of obtaining a COVID visa extension for their visa exemption after receiving conflicting information from immigration officers. They mention that another traveler with a Russian passport successfully obtained a COVID visa on a visa exemption, prompting their question. Responses indicate that the COVID extension might still be available until January 25, but it is crucial to frame the request correctly as an 'unable to travel due to COVID extension' to avoid issues with immigration officials.
