What should I do if I'm a beginner trying to apply for a DTV visa for Muay Thai training in Thailand?

Hi everyone, I need some advice on a DTV (Muay Thai) application issue.
I applied through the Thai Embassy in Hong Kong after buying a 6‑month Muay Thai training package, but they replied asking for a portfolio showing at least 6 months of past Muay Thai experience. The issue is that I’m a beginner and applying specifically to learn Muay Thai in Thailand. This gym is legit cuz I am really planning to learn it and chose it based on loads of Google Map reviews.

Has anyone faced this before? How did you handle it as a beginner?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have any previous Muay Thai experience at all?  Even pictures of you at a gym or at an event or trying on some gloves will help show your genuine interest.

You may need an even longer course (or is it something else?!). The main issue is that there are many Muay Thai candidates, but attendance hasn’t much increased surprisingly 😅. Some popular gyms have processed over 800 applicants. We’re back to the visa mill situation from before the crackdown on student visas and some embassies may be stricter than others.

@ANONOMOUS  6 months isn't enough and they will give you a METV.  Go for at least 12 months muay thai

This is something that jakarta has started doing to. It can be tricky but dont try and bull *it them just be honest about why you want to do Muay Thai. Good luck

Prepare a good cover letter and explain it once again while attaching the invitation from the Gym again.

I guess the problem is that just buying a course from a random gym does not qualify.

Gyms need to be registered and qualified to hand out the documents needed for you to apply for this DTV.
