What should I consider for my visa and marriage registration in Thailand during the pandemic?

Hello!

Forward planning advice needed please....

I am on a multi-b, next "border run" due in 11 weeks.

The company has Thai employees etc but is in process to get them all benefits from the Thai government... which involves laying them off and suspending social security.

I believe that would mean I would not be able to extend my period of stay inside Thailand at immigration (based on business).

Of course... if borders are still closed in June, I would have a problem as the border run is not possible.

The girl and I are also looking to register our marriage... if that is even possible these days re: papers / offices open etc.

Questions:

1. If we can register our marriage, is there a way to extend my stay based on that (from multi B to marriage visa or 1 month visiting wife).

1. Would I be able to extend on business with employees layed off and receiving benefits due to Corona virus.

1. Is there a smarter way that I am not thinking about!

Information:

UK passport holder.

Multi B valid until 1st December.

Entrance stamp expires 17th June.

Thank you very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on their multi-entry business visa, plans for a marriage registration, and concerns about extending their stay in Thailand amidst changing COVID-19 policies. They are uncertain about the impact of potential layoffs at their company on their visa extension options. Additionally, they are inquiring about the feasibility of getting a marriage visa and the requirements associated with it.

Visit your Ministry of Labor and ask if your Work Permit stays valid if you lay off the Thai staff needed as requirement to have this Work Permit. After that visit the Immigration Office and ask if the requirement of paying Thai staff salary, tax and SSO will still be in force due to this virus.

BTW Immigration want to see payments of the last three months, so if you lay off your Thai staff today, it will be a problem for next year application.

I think with the current situation changing daily and even hourly, it is too early to plan for mid June.

Planning that far in advance, when policies are changing every day, is foolish I think.

I believe you can get an extension of stay based on marriage, if you have either 40K THB of income a month or 400K THB in savings, seasoned for two months.

>Would I be able to extend on business with employees layed off and receiving benefits due to Corona virus.

Not right now.
