Had the same women few months ago re entering the only reason I got back in is I had a certificate from the hospital and appointments at udon hospital , and no exit flight from Thailand as I wasn’t aloud to fly she wrote something under my stamp , then I left Thailand healthy again presented my passport to go to Vietnam got questioned if I’m aloud to fly 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you fingers crossed but no biggie if they say no I’ll book a flight home show it them and go home and show them all the money I’ve spent during this 6 months tour of Asia on my spreadsheet it’s over £
Seems like a small thing to be so alarmed about. You can be pulled aside for secondary screening at any point for any reason, even randomly or for a quota. Or to look busy.
Sounds like that office may have set a rule for any desk junior to escalate all travellers with more than x Thailand stamps to the supervisors. They then counted your durations, looked you up and down and decided it wasn’t a problem. Simply doing the job.
Being checked at the border sometimes is the whole point of having an immigration office.
Similar thing happened to me for different reasons, same border. If you have more than 2 visa waivers in your passport you might want to consider having an agency walk you through immigration at BKK. They advertise all over Insta.
Border runner are under close scrutiny and people who they think are using visa exempt rather than getting a visa can be denied, especially at the land borders.
Paul Jones yes, I didn't say its just due to port of entry, but land borders were/are more critcal because of the volume of people making border runs. To the extent some borders said when travelling on visa exempt your extension in Thailand would be limited to 7 days, enough time to leave.
Immigration reported the other day 30,000 people had been denied for wrong submission, or at a border or while inside Thailand with incorrect visa status.
it depend if traveling a lot mean outside Thailand or if most of the time it's inside Thailand. In Nongkhai lately, they don't let people leave if they are not gonna let you back in (even if you say that you are gonna fly). So my guess is that it's full of stamps from other countries?
Sujy Sujaree when I went to Laos, I was told I wouldn't be let back in without a visa. I explained I was going to Laos to get my 90 day visa, she smiled and said okay.
It's all going to depend on how much time you have spent in Thailand in the last 12 to 18 months on tourist entries and what the immigration officer you will stand in front of thinks of that. If the next entry puts you over 150 days in that period expect to be grilled and possibly denied entry
