What new requirements has the embassy introduced for Soft Power visa applications?

Jun 23, 2025

The embassy now requires the Soft Power center to send a confirmation letter directly to the embassy’s email.

So, if you’re applying for a visa through an agent, make sure you also contact the Muay Thai or cooking school directly to ensure the email is sent.

We believe this is a measure by the embassy to combat photoshopped documents created by some agents who exploit the DTV visa process.

We also expect that the embassy will increasingly require supporting documents to be sent directly to the embassy email from the relevant 3rd party email.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The embassy now mandates that Soft Power centers send confirmation letters directly to its email for visa applications, particularly targeting misuse by agents creating fraudulent documents. This new protocol aims to enhance verification and reduce instances of document fraud, echoing similar practices already observed in Vietnam.

Its the fraud/abuse that is making it difficult for the rest of the new applicants. I would be careful with the soft options and will always seek the staycation business owner route etc. You have alot more scrutiny when you apply for the visa in the financials aspects of it but than you dont have to worry about being registered in school class payments etc. There are no checks for these people that have gotten this visa so you can easily come up with the idea that this is not sustainable at least not with the current rules etc. Expect changes in the future is only a matter of time until they figure this out 🙏

I applied myself online, not an agent. do i still have muay thai gym email them?

We also had this - but was not a problem the school send an email and we got approved

Thank you for sharing this! I believe it's a good implementation to reduce the number of shady agents or applicants looking to abuse the system. In our case only the consulates in Vietnam has requested for this confirmation, hopefully this is implemented across the board.

**Be careful please clarify a news.**

The embassy can easily verify school details through a phone call, email, or checking the school’s registration. If they find that the school is not eligible for the DTV visa, your application will be rejected without any further questions.

John Grey and also cancel the visa and deport if they later find out a visa was illegally obtained
Muay *************
John Grey not always.we have had applicants ask us for documents because the embassy rejected the first school they used. But told the applicant to go find another option. There are no set rules it vary from embassy to embassy and case to case.

Will they also start questioning some "Soft Power Centers" when receiving hundreds of so called new applicants applying to the same schools, classes for "intensive courses"? 😜

Anonymous participant 522 They seem to have done that hence the sharp decline in "agents' seeking business in this forum.

Which embassy is that request from? I got approved Fri 20 June (for soft power Muay Thai) from Hanoi without the gym sending this. My partner is still pending approval and applied same day..

If they do find out DTV issued on false papers they might just cancel thise visa the same way they did with Vol from certain agents.
