I report: another successful entry with the DTV (Workcation). This time at Phuket Airport. Super quick process, no questions. Maybe 10mins from exiting the aircraft to standing at the taxi stands. 🤩 DTV is amazing 👍

Must be way more than 10 entries now at different airports over the past 2 years. and always a flawless procedure. (including one in-country extension which took some effort.)

Easy entry with a DTV the other day at BKK. Easy entries via land as well. I wouldn't fly internationally to Phuket because I have no reason to...not my area of Thailand. Chiang Mai on the other hand is a possibility but for international air travel so far, over the past 20 years, it's always been BKK for me (the vast majority of international flights that land in Thailand go to BKK).

However, as sometimes happens, the IO initially stamped me as visa exempt. The DTV visa didn't appear in his system. He then made the necessary corrections when I told him it was wrong. I said even though I've got another trip coming up next week or so, I don't want any issues. A very humble man himself, the IO said he would be the one that would face problems if the incorrect stamp hadn't been corrected.

RadiantCamel1017 yeah i live in Krabi and Phuket is just a 2h taxi ride away. so it is easy and cheap. more complicated if i fly into Bangkok, which i actually just did in March… recent travel problems with the middle east war disrupted a lot. thats why its phuket this time around. usually i fly direclty from Dubai or Abu Dhabi into Krabi. that is so good since they offer that connection.

It is one reason why i choose to live in Krabi instead of dealing with Phuket, Chonburi, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc. 😅 the immigration office here is one of the best. 👍 and the expat community is small. the officers literally know everyone.

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

yes i always hand over my passport + bording pass + printed visa document + phone with TDAC QR. And tell them that i am on DTV.

Btw: in the TDAC i always specify the reason for stay: „Workcation according to DTV regulations.“ and i also input my visa number (which is printed on the approval pdf)

thailand digital arrival card… the one that every traveler has to fill out within 72h before arrival. online. for free. it is mandatory. if you dont have it you will be send to a tablet to do it before you can pass immigration.

this was my return flight :) i regularly go to europe for business workshops and then return to thailand. so, no. i did not provide any details about my next departure. because it is not necessary.

not a single question from the female immigration officer. i never got a question on all my entries… only a few years ago on tourist visa and first entry on ED they had some, but nothing crazy… with dtv never a question.
