I have a 90 day Non O visa with a 12 month retirement extension and a multiple re entry permit. My question is if I go to Europe, when I return do I need to show an onward flight etc from Thailand as I still have 13 months to run on my permission to be in the kingdom?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a 90-day Non-O visa with a 12-month retirement extension and a multiple re-entry permit, you do not need to show an onward flight when returning to Thailand. The extension gives you permission to stay in Thailand for an extended period, and upon returning, you will just be stamped in without needing to provide additional travel proof.

okay it is entirely possible to be on the initial 90 day Non-O visa AND have a yearly extension on top of that (giving you 15 months permission to stay).

You will not be asked to show onward travel when comin' back here on a yearly extension.

just in case you are still on a Non-Imm-O Visa and not done the extension yet - it normally has no Multi Re-Entry. Only Non-Imm-O/A Visa have Multi Re-entry permits. Are you sure you have a Non-Imm-O or is it a Non-Imm-O/A ?

No difference, that happens at all immigration offices

okay if you say so I am willing to believe it ๐Ÿ˜Š. . . . . . . . . although it is new to me that the remaining days of the USED visa will be added to the 12 months of the extension. Maybe different from one immigration to another

His yearly extention of stay is added to any remaining days left on his initial 90 day entry.

so my understanding is: If he already has the extension, there will be no 13 months for him upon re-entry. Just the remaining days according to the date when his 12 month extension is finished. Please refer to my first post

Steve Greir when the extension is being made, the visa becomes null & void. The 12 months start with the day of the validation of the extension. No extra days can be added from the 90-days visa even if he hasn't used them up fully

From the website of the Thai Embassy in London: 90-days Non-Imm-O only with Single Re-Entry. Non-Imm-O/A can be had with Multi Re-Entry. The 365 days Non-Imm-O however can be had with Multi Re-Entries. Please do not confuse. Is NOT stated on the page which describes the different types of visa. However when you check the Visa-fees page, it becomes clear that the Non-Imm-(O) is only single re-entry. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4. Non-Immigrant (3 month validity / single entry / stay up to 90 days) 50

5. Non-Immigrant (1 year validity / multiple entries / stay up to 1 year) 125

6. Non-Immigrant O-A (1 year validity / multiple entries / stay up to 1 year) 125

7. Non-Immigrant O-X (5 years validity / multiple entries / stay up to 5 years) 250

8. Non-Immigrant "B" (3 years validity / multiple entries / stay up to 3 years) 250

Gregor Huettner like I said, he obviously applied for the extention before his initial 90 days had expired, therefore giving him a 12 month extention plus what ever days remained on his initial entry, ie apparently a total of 13 months

OP wrote: "I have a 90 day Non O visa with a 12 month retirement extension and a multiple re entry permit" I have concluded that his 90 days Non-Imm-O is already void & used. He doesn't HAVE it AND the extension. He HAD it and now he is on an extension. He will get 12 months out of the extension and not 13 months as he wrote. That's why I asked him not to confuse these two different things

Gregor Huettner FYI, the non imm O visa is also avaliable in multi entry form, not only the non imm OA. The OP clearly states that he has a 1 year extention of stay and a multi re-entry permit.

13 months?? You cannot hold a Non-Imm-O Visa AND a 12-month extension at the same time. Either you have already made your "Permit of stay based on retirement" at an Immigration, and done it together with a Multi-Re-Entry Permit, and by this process your Non-Imm-O Visa is void and stamped "USED" from then on. Or you are still within the initial 90 days permitted by your Non-Imm-O and didn't do the extension yet. Assumed the first is true, So practically you are on a one-year "Permit of Stay" and your Multi Re-entry allows you to come and go as you please, within the one-year timeframe. You will just be stamped out and back in, each time entering Thailand starting the "90-day report requirement" again, and your permit of stay remains valid until the date (done in red ink) on the stamp that shows its expiration. You do not have to show an onward flight and do not have to show cash. You write your adress onto the arrival card and that's what's to it

He obviously applied for his yearly extention of stay with at least a month left on his 90 day non imm o visa. The extention is added to his existing stay giving him 13 months.

No. You can come and go as you please. You showed your proof of funds when you got your extension.
