Anyone can recommend a gym for dtv muay thai? Is it enough to buy 3 months package for Muay Thai? Also I will be applying for HCMC
Answer summary
Users recommend a minimum training duration of six to nine months for Muay Thai to qualify for the DTV visa in Thailand. Several gyms are suggested, such as Dowden Muay Thai, Tiger Eye Martial Arts, and The Wall Studio. Recent discussions indicate that three months may not be sufficient, and it’s crucial to stay updated on visa requirements as they may be changing.

Strange that you’re asking such questions when you’ve already selected the embassy you’re going to apply to?

3 months probably won’t work. 6 months is fine but go for at least 9 months to be safer side

I would wait, looks like it is being revised and you may get caught in the transition. I saw a post today from a Muay Thai gym owner, please read it.

At a minimum of 6 months or MORE...9 is now recommended.

We are seeing reports of DENIED DTV, or a SETV single entry tourist visa instead of the DTV visa as the 3 months of Muay Thai training can be completed with a SETV.

And the METV multiple entry tourist visa will get you up to 8 months stay in Thailand... plenty of time to do the 3 or 6 months of Muay Thai training.

Be careful with the selection of the Muay Thai gym... ask about their successes in sponsoring the Muay Thai students by providing the important correct documents required to get the DTV visa.

What is your passport nation?

Where are you now?

Where are you planning.. Thai Embassy or Consulate in what country, on submitting the DTV visa using the Evisa online application system?

all is true, but from my understanding you cannot work from Thailand on the SETV or METV, so the DTV is the better option.

obviously you're missing the message being sent In that Post. That is about getting the DTV visa.

For those who are planning to Apply for the DTV visa using the soft power activity basis, it's VERY important to read and understand.

pardon me again. I'm not 🚫 fear mongering !

I'm sharing helpful advice for those who are planning to apply for the DTV visa for Soft Power Activity.

It's not the applicant who seeks the SETV or METV... they are applying for the DTV visa.

It's the Thai Embassy or Consulate which is either denying the DTV visa Application or have issued a SETV or METV visa instead of the DTV visa.

A MTV is 6month, and as you say useable up to
***
months.

A DTV is a 5 year visa.

Your fear mongering about "oh, for this amount of month another visa would work, too" has nothing to do with getting a DTV visa.

You'll need more than that. Six months of classes is now the bare minimum.

Research through posts even as recently as today. Even six months might cause an issue getting the DTV. Probably nine months is preferable now. There was a very informative post from an actual gym owner about exactly this today.
