Has anyone returning to Thailand had their bank account checked for the 500000 baht requirement? How does this work?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the enforcement of the financial requirement of 500,000 baht for returning to Thailand, particularly concerning the DTV visa holders. While some reports suggest that bank account checks may occur, others claim that entry is often without checks if documentation is in order. The general consensus indicates that unless you're applying for a long-term extension or entering as a visa-exempt tourist, the enforcement of the 500,000 baht requirement seems inconsistent, depending on the immigration officer's discretion.
I’ve re-entered thailand twice since getting my DTV last December and they just scan my visa, passport, and stamp me in
No idea where all these anonymous people are getting bloodhounded.
I entered in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai with zero problems

There is no requirement to maintain 500k in the bank once the visa is issued, unless you wish to do a 6 month extension. The 20k baht cash (40k per family) requirement is for tourists that do not have a visa (visa-exempt entries) Tourists that have a visa have already satisfied the financial requirement during their application process. These include SETV, METV and DTV. Visa on Arrival are required to show 10k baht cash (20k per family).
Nope. The 20k is for everyone including all visa holders.

It only seems to happen to anonymous people so you definitely should be concerned.

I got my DTV on 8th Dec, i flew back to Thailand yesterday to Suvarnabhumi Airport, just handed the officer my passport and printed DTV visa A4 size. I didn’t bring any cash for show money, but was ready to show my bank account for 500K THB, Officer just scanned the QR on my A4,no questions were asked and stamped 6 month on my passport. Depends on the officer i guess.

They are more rumors about it (500k) and almost a confirmation for the 20k, rule that exists since quite some time but never really checked or only in rare cases.
Anonymous participant 746 the 20k requirement is for visa-exempt entries. They use it as an excuse to deny entry to people they suspect are not genuine tourist
