This falls under the “everything else” part of the group. I need a medical certificate for Thai driving license according to my employers admin. Currently in BKK until later today, then back to Bang Phra. I’d like to get it today. Where can I get it in BKK? And how long does it take?

Also currently have a US driving license

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a medical certificate for a Thai driving license in Bangkok, you can visit any doctor's office or clinic. Several users recommend specific locations, including a clinic on Sukhumvit 71 that charges 100 baht and only takes a few minutes. Additionally, hospitals such as BNH are available but generally charge more (around 900 baht) and may take longer. The process typically involves a simple health check that may only last a few minutes. If you're near the Department of Land Transport, local motorbike taxis can help direct you to a nearby clinic. Most commenters advise that it's a quick and straightforward process.

Any clinic or hospital. Mention for driving license approximately 15-20 min. To request a driving license you might need to make appointment via DLT smart queue before be there.

Thailand land purchased by China. Not advisable to visit Thailand.

If you are in Bangkok go to the department of land transport across from Chatuchak market, there is a BTS and MRT stop, and ask any of the motorbike taxi drivers to take you to get the medical certificate. They all know where to go close by. They charge bt40 round trip, and bt170 by the clinic. It is very fast and easy.
Gary *******
Just go to any doctor ,tell them what it is for,It's a very basic check over.

I went to BNH hospital , it was done in 30 minutes , cost 900 baht. I have been told you can go to a local clinic and get them done for 200 baht. I didn’t mind paying , it only for the convenience of speaking English.

@Mo *****
100 baht

Thai Mrs paid 60 baht to the receptionist of a local high street clinic. No questions or examination.

Agreed

4 years ago I paid 30 Bath in RoiEt. You paid 30 times more than I did for two minutes work. There is no need to speak English to the doctor that has a basic knowledge of the great imperial language anyway. He will understand what you want anyway.

The BNH is a ripoff. My insurance covers all private clinics but I don’t go there anymore. It is not according to my feelings of honesty.

@Gert *******
they do charge more, but it’s nearby and convenient for the family

We have a different spending attitude. I will not support a mentally that the wealthy Chinese/Thai doctors have in the BNH. It gives the wrong message. The times we had 52 Bath to the Euro are over. We should not be taken advantage of by the rich Thai Hospitals

Bea Goyvaerts yeah i know , I just wanted it done quickly and without having to look aroun

Up until about 5 years ago I used to go to BNH for the work permit medical. It's a good hospital, they even removed my appendix once. But then it was more like approaching 2,000 baht and required blood testing and took at least 3-4 hours for the entire process. Not sure why it was cheaper for you or so fast, but once I found Medconsult it was a no-brainer to use them for the certificate as faster, cheaper, easier.

@Christopher *****
I guess, not so many people using the hospital right now? For the driving license they do an eye test, blood pressure , height and weight. I was registered at bumrungrad before then I switched to BNH , they have a really good app where I can access all my medical records from my phone, added bonus is direct billing between the insurance company I use and the hospital works great Decent hospital .
Christopher ******
@Mo *****
yeah, I did the same, switched from Bumrungrad to BNH and they direct billed with Cigna USA for my insurance when I had my appendix out, really a great hospital. The doctor was so proud of the operation he gave me a dvd of the video they shot lol.

There is a place next to the racquet club called Medconsult it’s easy fast and cheap near to Samitivej at least for work permit medical, just call and ask, I’m sure about 200 baht
Christopher ******
Actually it was 180 baht and the benefit is your info is saved so it gets faster and easier each year.

Garrett Greenwald ok my mistake, i had a mate go today to DLT in phuket married 8am out 8.50am didnt have to watch the video i wonder if this because has license already .... renewal only..

@Wayne *******
if your license hasn’t expired by more than a year then you don’t have to suffer the pain of watching the video at renewal time.

Just got it done here. Took 4 minutes and 100 baht. And exactly what I thought an old doctors tiny office in BKK would look like. Thanks Garrett!
Garrett ***********
@Chris******
Hahaha glad it worked out mate.
Brian ********
Any doctors office can do it. Doesnt even need to be doctor. Just tell them its for your license

If it's anything like the medical certificate I got for mine it takes 30 seconds. They check you have two arms and two legs and give you the certificate. Am sure the hospitals provide the service and there are places outside the government building were you get the license that provide the service mate. Good luck.

@Bim ******
Just like you described. Two arms two legs certificate issued

Any doctors office can do it. If you're close to Sukumvit 71 there's a clinic half way up Sukumvit 71 next to the 7-11 that does them, 100 baht and takes about 3 mintues. Also any hospital will do them but they will be more expensive and probably take longer.
